How can I edgeguard against Yoshi?!

How can I edgeguard against Yoshi? The majority of my kills are D-air spikes, and these don't work on Yoshi while he's doing his jump. HELP pls, lawlz.

i don't believe there's anything on Yoshi in any of the stickies. i know for a fact that there's nothing on yoshi in my thread that is stickied. but uh, all i know is that if you shine him mid jump it'll stop the animation and he'll just kinda fall, but you can kick him off the stage from there and he's screwed i guess.

i don't know, just a hypothesized thought. i have NO experience fighting yoshi with Falco.

wait..yoshi's D-air is the flutter kick,im sure is f-air thats the spike,SHL's,fast fall D-airs should make his dino extinct..i felt cool saying that..

Yoshi's second jump makes him able to go straight through most attacks. I'm pretty sure Falco's Shine just stops Yoshi's jump, though. Quite funny, for an effective edgeguard against Yoshi to be a Falco Shinespike.

OK, thanks guys, I have read the shine freeze guide in the stickies and it says that eventually it can get quite predictable. But it seems like my best option, so thanks a lot.

And yes, surprisingly shining actually works lol. I guess you just have to gimp as much as possible.

It doesn't matter that Yoshi is low tier, you don't need a high tier character to be good. I bet GimpyFish would destroy both you and I with his amazing Boozer, and probably at the same time even with a handicap. Losing to a good Yoshi isn't nearly as embarassing as losing to a bad high tier. Perhaps you can tell me how the latter feels?

as a yoshi player I would say that a down tilted f tilt is a good edgeguard. usually stops yoshi around 100
