Smash Journeyman
Fun Game #1:
THE HULK
1 (Green Team) vs. 3 (Blue & Red Team)
Settings:
Lives/Time = 3 stock
Stage: Hyrule
Team Attack: -On
Handy Cap: -On
Items: -All On, -Very Low
Green Team (1st Player) is the Hulk.
- Must be D.K., this is for obvious visual reasons, and for balancing reasons....... I find his hit box to help the Justice League (JL) combo even though team attack is on.
- Handy Cap Starts at 7 every time there is a new Hulk.
- Handy Cap Goes down by 1 if they win with 2 or more lives
- Handy Cap Goes Up by 1 if the JL+Batman has 4 or more lives
Red Team (2-3 players) is the Justice League.
- All characters are allowed
- 1 Handy Cap
- If a person in the JL gets +3 Kills and the JL wins, they become Batman.
- If the Hulk looses at 9 handy cap, the JL can appoint a new Hulk by free for all match, with most kills/or fist place (what ever you prefer) = the new Hulk.
Blue Team (1 player) is Batman.
- this is a person who is still part of the Justice League, but sees no benefit to being one of them.
-this position is earned in the game, but the core of the battle is still a 1v3.... batman still maintains a tentative position in the JL for the goal of the game. No in fighting KK, the HULK is TOO Powerful. lolz
- 1 Handy Cap
- If the Justice League wins with the Batman still alive at the end, the Batman becomes the Hulk, and the Hulk player is now a JL member.
- If the Batman survives past the JL members even in a loss, he continues to be batman.
- If someone else from the JL qualifies as the Batman, he takes the Batman Position.
To game ends in 4 ways:
1) The Hulk Looses his Rage: The player as the Hulk looses his handy cap from previous rules effects down to 5. Hulk Wins without having to kill the JL any more. This is the least likely victory, but its to stop the Justice League to run into tornado (retreat to their satellite base) and still have a chance for next game.
1) Hulk Smash: The Hulk Gets all 8+ Kills with a Handy Cap less then 8. (I give it to the Hulk at 8 and not 9, because the tornado claims many lives at 1 handy cap so a perfect sweep is very difficult, almost impossible)
2) Double Batman'ed: The player as the Batman gets +3 kills (you shouldn't count team kills....) and wins again. Instead of being the Hulk, he just wins.
3) Sweet Justice: A JL player ends a game without losing a life. This is very difficult with a Batman present, so it takes the full JL to achieve this...... Not only do you have to not take each other's live, but the Hulk becomes stronger if you tried for it and failed.
Tips and Ideas about the Game before you play:
Tips for The Hulk:
- Up+B is your Friend everywhere. It gets through all but fox's & ness's projectiles, and kills at 10% easy.
- Down+B is an instant Kill if you hit them with it. And Up-kills cause them to be out of the match for a longer period of time.
- Use the invincible frames of the forward throw as a shield.
- By Standing in:
-The middle of the stage will take around 20% to kill them..... but stops projectile lock downs. Its a very powerful place for D.K. with the platforms, they will probably scatter to the sides.... once you separate them, chase down and kill them.
-The left side is terrible to stand in against projectiles, but easy 1 touch kills
-The right side gives you cover from Strait projectiles, but does not kill due to the pit, and the lack of combing needed...... and gives them a little hole to juggle you in. The top of the Hut is a great place to jump back to the center.
Tips for JL
- Get Projectiles on your side to hold back the power of the hulk.
- Fox, Mario, Kirby+team thief, Samus, Ness and Yoshi are great for this job.
- Spikes will kill the Hulk if he is not careful. So have a Kirby or Ness on your side is a good thing.
- D.K. on your team is someone that can take about 20% more damage then the rest, and a Ness player that is healed can survive for very long times if the D.K. player chooses to camp.
- Items do huge shifts of power in the game, so don't allow the Hulk to get his hands on any special radiation (Heart, Tomato, Star). You can spread out when you hear an item drop, use your numbers to cover the field.
Tips For Batman:
This position was created to stop people from running at D.K. and using the pool of lives to make one person have 5-6 chances. If that person is really that pivotal to the victory, he shouldn't have died so much, so cut him off from the bank of lives and see how he still fares. If the Batman+JL can still triumph against the Hulk, then Batman gain The Hulk's position with a 7 handy Cap... which is in range to win..... but you also have a chance to win as batman if you can kill the hulk all 3 times, with just 3 lives at your disposal.
Batman is the Key for gaining the High Ground against a strong Hulk player if you have bad teammates...... but if you have good teammates, I suggest you go for the 3 man joint victory and maintain Sweet Justice in the end. Batman is actually counter intuitive to this goal, which makes the games have a solo element within this group.
The game is about forcing good team play to put you in a situation of winning, but needing a ridiculous circumstance to actually win. Until then, the game keeps shifting around between being teammates, and forcing 3v1 combat cinema for the players.
