I know this works with Fox, so I thought I'd post it in the Fox forum.

When your opponent is grabbing onto the ledge, you can walk right up to him and "teeter" on the edge, and if your opponent tries to do a 'A' attack from the ledge, it'll go right through you with like 90% of the characters and not hurt you.

This is really really good against people that won't ledge hop random attacks at you (good people), as you can easily punish every option they can do from this position.

If someone does ledge hop at you though, you'll probably be able to react quick enough if you practice this enough to shine them out of whatever aerial they do at you. This of course does not work, if they keep their invincibility from the ledge.

It's fun to do, just thought I'd throw this out there for those that don't know about it.

omg another useful post, I'm on a spree

So you're pretty much saying that this is only good against people who can't properly ledgehop stuff. So it's actually not too useful at all.

Actually you react to a ledgehop with your shield. That way their ledgehop attack pushes you off and you double jump back with a bair to catch their lag.

This actually interests me quite a bit now. I will start using this.

Lol this was such an interesting idea that I spilled water all over my keyboard whilst aiming for my cup because I was trying to continue reading.

No... good people don't ledgehop much because other good people are constantly baiting them into ledge hoping so they can f-smash them out of it.

Yeah, but against most characters, like Falcon, if he ledge hops something you can shine instantly and it's like guarenteed death.

A common mind game I see here in Texas a lot is for the Fox to walk right up to the ledge when someone is grabing the ledge, and just randomly grab thin air. This will cause the person grabing the ledge to try and ledge hop an aerial at the Fox, only to get immediatly shined by the Fox right after he's done grabbing.

this is good for a one time mindgame, because after you use it your opponent will know what you are doing at the ledge. Interesting nonetheless.

the problem is, you're assuming they've hung onto the edge to lose invincibility frames. shinng a ledge hopping opponent doesn't work if they do it immediately. besides. they don't have to attack. They can just ledge hop into a WD. like if a marth did that immediately, you'd be screwed. also, playing against another fox or a falco, if they do it immediately, they can shield pillar/drillshine/pillar you.

it's gonna be like jump fallen ege hogs though, so, situational that you wan't seeit much.

also you're neglecting to mention how you'll get to the teeter spot. to do that you need to walk, and if your opponent's on the ledge already, he'll just get off before you get there. if you do it before he gets back, his returning up B will hit you, and if you shield, you'll lose the teeter animation.

but it's still an interesting idea.
