Greetings, all. Been playing since Brawl, back in the days when the sideways Wiimote just felt like the natural way to play Smash, but I've long since evolved from that. I started trying to play the game seriously (sorta) when Smash 4 hit the scene, and I pretty much got all of my experience from For Glory matches. Impressive resume, I know. My jank choice in controllers didn't end with Brawl, played with a vanilla 3DS (so no second control stick) during 3DS, and then played with the bulky Wii U Gamepad. Although the stick on that eventually busted, and I started using a Wii Pro Classic Controller, which was still sorta jank but better. Now with Ultimate, I used a wired Switch Pro Controller, it ain't a Gamecube Controller but it's what I'm used to lol.

Started Brawl as a Kirby main, and it was either Brawl that introduced me to the Kirby series... or it was the other way around. Can't remember, but I hold those times fondly because of it. I tried sticking with Kirby through out 4 but the one character I clicked with solidly was Villager in that game, with Kirby becoming my secondary. Now in Ultimate, K. Rool is such a fun and all around wacky character that he superseded both of them, and while SSBU Villager isn't clicking with me as much as they used to, I still toy with Kirby sometimes among other characters, although he feels more like a novelty than a viable character, unfortunately.

The first tournament or local I ever went to ended up taking place on my birthday a couple weeks ago, spent the whole day with a buncha Smash dorks like me. I purely used K. Rool, ended up placing 33rd out of 111 (give or take) entrants for Ultimate Singles, getting all the way to Round 3 before getting 2-0'd and then 2-1'd. Not trying to flex, I doubt any of this is impressive anyways, just wanted to share what little competitive scene experience I've had.

I've been enjoying Ultimate since the day it's come out, it took everything I liked about 4, trimmed out the fat, and made it better. Hoping to meet some like-minded people and enjoy Ultimate while working on improving my play little by little, while overall just having fun.
