Hey, I'm creating this new website to enhance brawl's online mode. Since, Nintendo does not allow us to connect with strangers I thought it would be a good idea to host everyone's brawl codes and friend codes online and make a chat session that is easy to challenge other people to matches and tournaments.

Other things that I have added are
downloadable custom stages that people send into the site and we host. We will try to stay on top of the levels Nintendo sends us so that you can keep them forever.

Forums - even though these forums are better.

Shoutbox - a fast way to challenge someone to a brawl.

friend code library - has everyone's friend codes in one spot.

guides/walkthroughs - anyone can create guides and walkthroughs and we'll host them.

So far some people have suggested we do a blog and a podcast. I have the equipment for a podcast, or even a video or two with my new hd video camera. I am currently working on adding a blog to the site.

What are some other suggestions to make the site better?
The site is shareastage.site.io

Now I really don't want to get in trouble for advertising or anything, so if you would like to help me thats fine, but if you think its a stupid idea then don't worry about it. I just want to make the game as fun as possible, and if that means making friend codes and levels accessible than thats what the site will be.

Welcome to the boards. [Or not, because you registered back in November.]
While your efforts are certainly most valiant, I must say that I'm having problems loading that url.

Edit: Alright, page decides it wants to load now. First, the layout needs a lot of work. It doesn't seem as professional looking as it should. Work on something simple and clean as reu_1303 has said below me. Good luck.

well this is the second time I have seen your site once on IGN and now here. I like the but I think you really should just go for something clean and simple not try to make it fancy. I like the changes since I last saw it. Still think one logo on the left would be better but thats just me. Hope everything turns out well . Still I think you need to simplify things on design, and work on the friends code part of it. Just my opinion but I really don't like the brick background, just my 2 cents

Yeah, for some reason the free server I'm hosting it with goes down once in awhile. So I should probably upgrade to something more reliable. It should be up and running soon so whenever you get a chance give your suggestions.

I made a lot of changes since I started it, and posted on IGN. I got a new banner and a cleaner look (minus the ads - which I'm testing out right now). I changed the background to white so its easier on the eyes and the buttons bigger. I'm going to put a blog on the front page as well.

Also, how should I simpify it? Less tables and lines?

I like this idea. I will be sure to use it when the game comes out, and am looking for a wifi challenge. I just checked out the site. Looks good for a start. I think you should add some pics or brawl 'decorations' on the site for more appeal. And also when you make the page where it shows other people's friend codes, I wonder if people should include their name and personal info(not crap like where you live) just info for players who want to know who they are battling.

Just pitch the idea to the admins here and ask them to make it a part of SWF it'd be a great addition and it stop a few threads already deticated to connecting wii's. I just started one actually lol in the regions threads.

I applaud your intentions.

Some things you should do:

-go by regions, and not just Americas/Japan/EU, because people in Florida will probably have a somewhat jaggy connection to those in Washington

-Have a quick and easy way to alert someone that you've added their friend code, and allow them to alert you back that they've added yours (something even more simple than sending a private message)

-Have a ranking system, though unfortunately, it'll have to be the honor system, and let people choose their skill level, and give each skill level a good description

-Allow for a small profile, where the person can explain who they like to use and their strategies and if they prefer items or no items and certain stages and what not, it'll help the selection process

-Make it easy to navigate, I hate going back to sites where I can't find where I'm going or how to find something, this site is a very good example, as it has a home page where it branches off, and keeps track of where you've branched to at the top, facebook, for example, is horrible

That's about all I can think of that I would really want out of a site, but I'm sure you've probably thought about all of those.

o ya, i remember u, you posted this on ign's forums, there was one VERY big problem with ur site, when you post your friend code in the friend code library, how will you know if some1 has added you? my siggestion to u, is to require for people to post their e-mail address or IM so people could contact that person if he/she has added them.

No advertisements, please. The admins of this site will probably create something like this when the time is right.
