I'm making this thread for the purpose of those who seek advice for when they're stuck in any particular segment in a Zelda game. If you have trouble at any part in any game, post here, and hopefully somebody can help!

I hate attributing spam (if this qualifies) and I don't want to sound rude, but...

Aren't there numerous online walkthroughs and cheat codes to look up already?

There are, but as a community, we're here to give one-to-one advice. It's like using an online translator. It will never come close in accuracy to someone who can personally translate what you need. Plus, this thread can serve as a means of bringing the SWF Zelda community closer together as we help one another out. As linear as some of the Zelda games can be (except LoZ on the NES, because it wins the award for the most nonlinear game of all time), there are different approaches to combat, puzzles, and progressing through the game. We may want to share such strategies to those curious.

I noticed this hasn't been done yet, but I had assumed there would be a thread for each game, or sometimes a game and its sequel, and a thread for each main character and finally a timeline thread. The individual game threads would include everything from character discussion specific to THAT game, to discussion about the dungeons, how to beat and play the game, questions or theories about the story, etc...

Would you guys mind if I set that up?

Even though it seems like it might clutter this subforum just a little, I wouldn't mind it. I don't know about the others, though.

How about you just stick to one game thread, though? It seems pretty hefty to take on more than one at a time.

I walk up to him and he just says, "Hey, that's no different from Dante" and continues on his way. Do I have a glitch or a faulty copy or what?

No, no, no. You sell the skull mask to skull kid. The wooden mask goes to graveyard-boy. But Azure Flame has the methodology down.

Help for a n00b

I was playing the original Legend of Zelda on virtualnes.com the other day, and I couldn't find the second temple in the forest.

Directions, anyone?

In the original Zelda, Level 2 is in the east. Its position is
about 5 units east and 4 units north
of start position.

M'kay, guys. I need s'more help. :p

In the center room of the second floor of WW's Tower of the Gods. When I go through the left door and cross over the huge gap with the grappling hook, how do I get something onto that switch so that the door on the other side of the room will stay open? I know it has something to do with the statue in the next room (I already have the Command Melody), but I can't figure out how to get it through the door. :ohwell:

Edit: Wait, n/m I know what part you are talking about...

Leave the statue back, than go across...

It has something to do with getting a moving platform to activate

I think you need to pick up the statue and then go through the door. You should have already done that earlier in the dungeon...

And if you wanted help for after that, then fight the Darknut in the room to get the bow and arrow, shoot the eye switch and some platforms should appear to get the statue back to the main room.

You're thinking of a different part of the dungeon, I think.

In this room, I need to play the Command Melody, because there's a gap between me and the statue, and a switch on the statue's side. When I get him to step on the switch, a bridge appears in the gap, but when I pick him up to move across, it disappears because nothing's on the switch.

THan I WAS right at first...

Stay on the switch and have the statue walk across the bridge.

You CAN move the statue when It's being controlled

He can't go through the door, though. And even if he could, it wouldn't matter, because I would have to get through eventually, and I'd trap myself if I stood in there alone.

Leave him near the door.

CAn't you cross the gap with the grappling hook or Deku Leaf?
