Attended my first proper Brawl tourney last Saturday; organisers just finished uploading the videos today.

(add the &fmt=18 tag to the end of the video url if you want a higher quality vid)

The training I had prior to the tournament consisted of playing low level CPU's to think about different methods of approach and attack situations, as well as a bit of slightly-laggy online play.

I'm really looking for an aspect or two of my play style which stands out and should be worked on first; things I should look to improve now before I play in another tournament.

Constructive criticism if you can; I'd prefer comments other than just the old "play against humans more" since it takes a fair bit of organisation to be able to play against other people in my area - I need stuff to practice inbetween the biweekly meet-ups etc.

Thanks for your help,

-Kowz

Directly above you tipping a dair.
Your overall marth was pretty good but I think you didn't abuse marth's special moves enough (the B button is your friend). The yoshi NEVER grabbed you so countering would have scored you plenty of free damage. If a person doesn't grab much, counter. You should probably use the dancing blade also while approaching or do short hop dancingblade or shieldbreaker for a mix up. Abusing fairs is good but they weaken with overuse. Whip out the dancing blade to recharge your moves.

Thanks for the tips.

The Yoshi match was my first of the tournament; I actually two-stocked him a couple of times before the tourney started, but I think nerves may have gotten to me and messed up my playstyle a little bit at the start of the match. You're right about countering, though.

Dancing Blade is definitely something I have to start incorporating into my game, if only for the knockback of fAir and other moves to recover.
