I've been playing Fox for a while and I'm pretty good at the average stuff like wavedashing, shuffling, shining, etc. But the problems I have come to are waveshining backwards, short hop lasering backwards, and double short hop lasering backwards. Any tips? I mainly want to focus on waveshining backwards the most right now, so if you have any information on the three, please prioritize the backwards waveshining information first.

Well I'm really bad at explaining thing's so I'll try to leave it to someone else but....

If you want to waveshine backwards you need to make sure you tilt the control stick backwards after you are out of the shine, when the wavedash begins otherwise you will just turn around in the shine... Sooo...

1: Shine
2: Wavedash, and press backwards right after you hit the jump button and finish the wavedash backwards.

Sound right? Idk... :dizzy:

Yeah, that's right.

On rshl/ rshdl,

you have to flick the stick in the direction you want to shoot then press b after you've released it.

So for a backwards moving shl for example it's jump (while holding backwards), flick the stick in the forward diretion, press b, press down.

Same holds for Rshdl as well, except you have to push b twice and don't fast fall it.

Sometimes you want to turn around in the shine though. Like if your shine sent your opponent behind you and you want to follow it up, you would turn around in your shine then wavedash.

I wish I could do that waveshine lol...I have never practiced constantly turning around like silent wolf did but when I tried I only got like 3 or 4 reps before I messed up >_>. Tis hard.

Well, you don't do Silent Wolf's technique when they're still alive. You do it to show off after the opponent's been upsmashed and flying in the background. And when you do the aptly named "Waveshine Dance", it's when the observers go ooh and ahh. (Silent Wolf, you owe me for coming up with a name for your technique :p)

I have a hard time with rshl and rshdl too, so much so that I don't use it in matches for fear of illusioning to my death (which happens alot when i try rshl), but for some reason I never thought to look up how to effectively do it. So, I'm happy that I stumbled upon this thread :) thanks to those who helped teh pwnxors :p

mmm i practicing reverse waveshining and turnaround waveshining with silentwolfs wavedancing
everyday i work myself up from a small number up to a large number
usually i aim for 5 successful waveshines then keep adding 5 per set until i reach 40
i figure you'll never need to shine more than 40 times in a row in a game anyways, and my hands start to cramp anyways after all that practice
