I'm not saying pivot grab is bad. I mean, I obviously use it a lot. I'm just saying I already spam it too much, doing it even more would make me even worse.

You don't use it too much. Trust me.

Edit: think of it like GaW's turtle, but even better. Many characters have no answer to the turtle. So what if they spam it? They can't get past it, so why's it matter how predictable it is?

Think so? I don't know, it seems like I do it a lot of times when there are better options. Maybe not in those videos, though, I'm not sure. Definitely online; I spam the hell out of it.

If you know you'll hit with a different attack, then go for it. Otherwise, use pivotgrabs.

I always laugh when people on allisbrawl.com accuse me of being a grab-spammer. Honestly, how else do you play Olimar? Grabs are pretty much the only reason he's any good.

Whenever I encounter a player that I can tell gets frustrated easily, I go into grab spam mode. I can see him squirm out of the corner of my eye and that's how I know I'm doing it right lol.

As for pivot grabbing, I agree with what Dan said. If they don't have an answer for it, why stop it? That being said, it is good to switch it up. I've strayed away from the grab game just so I could do as many different things with Olimar, that way when I turn to the grab game things become a little more easier. I'm hopefully gonna have a set on youtube in the next 24 hours, against a killer lucas ^_^

The problem is they do sometimes have an answer for it. But yeah, grab spamming does really frustrate people, which makes winning WAY easier. Fun times.

If you do it too much, they will find an answer for it. In the set I'm gonna post once it gets uploaded, I played a lucas that knew how to use pk fire really, really well, and I couldn't get around it. However, that was the majority of his game, and about midway thru the 2nd game of the set, I figured out what to do, and I was able to play better. I probably would have had a tougher time if he had mixed in using his PK fires with other set ups. The more you are able to mix it up, the easier going on spamming tears goes.

What's wrong with MK...?
He's probably one of my favorite match-ups:bee:

What do you do against him, then? Watch the videos where I get ***** by Joker, then tell me what I should have been doing!

Is no one gonna give me the MK advice I need? :(
Shield more.

Side-stepping doesn't help that much since most of MK's moves are too quick to punish afterwards or last long enough to hit you out of it. His shield stun sucks, so if you shield, its like you're powershielding everyhit. Also, shielding a little longer after a glide attack doesn't hurt much since eating an U-throw is preferable to Dsmash.

From watching the MK videos...

Pivotgrabs work well until he begins to jump over it and fall back or just jump again. Joker never approached from the ground. He always shorthopped or full jumped an aerial. There's a great way to deal with this.

You can run away, and as he runs up towards you, run back to him and shield. He'll more than likely use a fair or nair- both of which are unsafe upon shieldblock. If he hits your shield, shieldgrab. If not, then don't grab because he'll break through your armor-less grab with a dtilt. Just run back and setup again. If he full jumped the attack, you'll be able to upsmash to punish his poor tech skill. :p Of course, you can't always count on this to work. He may begin to grab you instead. It's just another option you have. And this game is aaaall about options.

If you notice that he's being too cautious with his approaching, that's your cue to throw pikmin at him! (to rush him) For the most part, you weren't throwing enough, and sometimes when you did, he was already in your face ready to punish you. You might want to consider throwing your pikmin from the ground. While it has less range, if you space correctly, it can be a safer option. An even better way to throw is to use retreating pikmin throws. And one more thing. When you see your opponent getting close, switch your eyes over to MK and use your peripheral vision to watch Olimar. You'll be able to react more quickly.

Those were the two main things I noticed. There's a couple more things you could do that I can bullet:
-shield through the entire tornado.
-rising upairs off the ledge are better than fairs off the ledge.
-stop rolling so much!
-upair will go through his glide attack.
-running upsmashes can catch gliding MKs by surprise.

Thanks for all the advice! Hopefully I can put this to good use. About the whorenado, though: I was shielding, I just kept getting shield-stabbed. I guess I need to tilt my shield up.
