Hey guys. I'm currently involved in that big ol SWF/WiFi wars tournament. I made it out of Pools with my ROB w/ a record of 9-1 (record includes DQ's). Only characters I faced were Zelda, Pit, and maybe an Ike and a Toon Link.

But, I have a feeling now that the scrubs are outta the way... that the characters I face are gonna be waay more diverse. That being said, I'd like some tps on playing mostly Olimars, Lucas's, G&W's, Diddy's

Any help would be appreciated. As a side note, I have Ike as a secondary char.

Lucas is the only one i have experience on...so...

First of all, be aware of his Usmash, its pretty big and hits from the sides as well. Also u may get mindgamed into it as the startup of the Smash is slow and its a bit confusing as to what hes doing before the attack actually comes out. Also if ur below him, space urself well enuff cuz ur Uair mite get interrupted by his Dair, and watch out for the PK fire - the range and knockback at high percents will keep u away from him. Stages i think are good would be Lylat, cuz he may get stuck under the stage and Robs Dair connects easier there, and FD just cuz the edges are messed and he can or may mess up the UpB.

Thats all i can really say - for G&W, watch for the Aerials really...

Good Luck

wow i cant really give any adive on those chars...well

the diddy i play likes to spam bananas, but if you keep on the attacks (be wise about it tho)you'll punish him more times than he brings them out. Dont get hit by a banana peel with another one out, he'll just make you keep in slipping so careful.
preempt your attacks (Fairs mostly coz you preempt your other attacks anyway) because diddy's aerials get annoyingly fast. careful of his hump attack even if you shield its like a grab so sidestep and counterattack. Also careful of characters who have weird smashes (the timing) because if you are going to sidestep and dsmash you have to time it a lil differently. i think you can edgegaurd him pretty well tho because he has that weird UpB. intercept and WoP when hes in that position

lucas is covered so...

olimars are nothing without their pikmin, so... if you can keep up the heat (again, wisely) ... but you have to watch out if hes one to wait. you gotta attack at an angle because he tosses those pikmin pretty well from above and from his sides. But dont let yourself get reckless and get shield grabbed.

i havent played many pro [insert the charsyou may have trouble with here] but what i do is try and read them, and capitalize on their tendencies...

good luck man!

Be patient, that's the key.

Against Lucas, it can be tricky. If he spams PK fire, try to predict it and Side B to reflect. If he starts to predict when you're going to fire your laser, change up your timing, throw a Gyro at him, or even rush in and punish his down B. Watch out for his Usmash, don't EVER try approaching him from directly above.

Also a little note. If your Gyro is sitting on the ground, it will block Lucas's PK fire.

Does the PK fire disappear or detonate on the gyro? If it disappears, great, but if it detonates, it's got a pretty meaty hitbox.

o a tip for ICs just incase, cuz my friend rocks a mean Nana + Popo.

Dsmash seperates them most of the time so spam it if u have to or to keep them from blocking. Dtilt trips them so it gives u an upper hand on a Directed Fsmash, Nair will seperate them from time to time depending on where they get hit. Also use ur lasers alot when u hit them off jus to split nana from popo or vice versa, so u can mess up there recov. I also recommend using alot of Reverse Bair or most of the time, since they get knocked far on both sides. And if u get in a Chain Grab by them just spam R/L to airdodge/tech out. And Uair should juggle/split them up as well. Jabs always throw them off an almost grab.

A well aimed laser can completely ruin diddy's recovery. Against Olimar if you time your dair right you can spike him while he's trying to get to the edge after using his up b.
