...And this is my obligatory introduction thread! Let's follow the general format:

  • Who do you main in your Smash game(s) of choice? Why?
Despite having followed Smash Brothers as a game all my life, I've only really played Brawl. That is because the only home Nintendo console I ever had was the Wii. When I was really young I would button-spam as Kirby. Towards the end of my Wii's functionality, however, I started to become for sophisticated and used Mario. My play was still casual, but I loved the game and was above average at it - if you exclude actual competitive players. For the past couple of years, I've missed playing Smash bros. I started following the Wii U competitive scene probably in mid-2015. I considered going out to buy a Wii U but decided to wait for the inevitable successor console and game. With Smash Ultimate a mere 17 days away, I think that the choice was worth it. To the point of mains, though, I'll have to wait and find out!
  • Why have you joined Smashboards? How did you hear about the site?
I heard about Smashboards through the competitive scene. I've joined because I expect to finally be active in playing the game for myself!
  • Do you attend tournaments? Do you want to?
I've never played any game tournaments, but I probably will play the game at least semi-seriously. Depending on how much time I end up giving to Smash, I may move on to tournaments for reals! (Though not possibly in a "I'm gonna be the very best!" sense)
  • Talk about your interests outside of Smash Bros.! Anime, sports, other games, etc.
I've passed a lot of time playing more or less respectable games such as Minecraft, Brawlhalla, and Pokémon. I've developed an interest in the mechanics of fighting games (hence Brawlhalla for filling the Smash void until now), but I'm also interested in game design, tabletop RPGs, and language learning (that being Latin).
  • What other communities are you a part of? Clubs at school, other forums?
I'm pretty young for a forum user and I'm still new to the forums that I am active in, but I do have a lot of forum experience from the rather obscure Hypixel Minecraft server forum. I was extremely active there for years and thus have reasonable experience in regards to how forums in general work. I'm currently ghosting the Smogon forum (Which has comparatively strict thread posting rules to here and especially Hypixel from what I've read on these sites).

Well, that is me! Nice to meet you, invisible reader!
