Having trouble approaching IC

I like to think of myself as a relatively decent Marth player, but some things get me every time.
One of these is the Ice Climbers and their troublesome neutral b.
The IC that give me trouble spam that attack a LOT, preventing me from using any ground approaches, and if I try to jump over them I end up vulnerable in the air. The only approach I've found that really works in jumping and countering, and that gets predictable after a while.
Shuffling doesn't seem to work too well either, because it's hard to avoid both of the iceberlets.
Any advice?

first of all, i think you should ask that in the Marth Q&A section on the top of the marth section page so people wont get mad at you for making these kinda threads...(yes i was shouted at for doing something like this...T_T)
anyways, do they jump and do neutral B? or do they do ground neutral Bs?
if they jump and shoot their ice blocks at u, then u can just easily shield and then wavedash out of your sheild to get a tipper since they re COMPLETELY vulnerable after they shoot their ice blocks since theres a huge lag after they shoot them
if they re doing grounded neutral Bs, you can just do a SHFFL fair, it ll allow u to jump over teh ice blocks and getting a hit, setting up for a nice dtilt, or u can camp by just jumpin over them constantly, this might provoke the IC to get a bit pissed off and they ll get impatient by going after u themselves
Personally, i give IC players no room to shoot ice blocks at me, i will always be at their face, (or in tipper range) ye i just don't let them have any range, especially with any other projectile users.
SHFFL Fairs are teh way to go, or maybe double jump descendin fair OUR OF THEIR RANGE
btw just watch Ken Vs Chudat, Ken wins ALL OF THEIR MATCHES except for one. All you really need to do is outrange the poor twins because their range sucks
Hope this helps

Whenever I play against a spamming IC's, I abuse the platforms. As long as you aren't playing on Final Destination, you can use full jumps through platforms followed by air dodging into them to quickly get out of the way if the ICs are far away. If the try jumping to get them onto the platform, fastfall below with a waveland and dash to get in range. If there are no platforms to use, it's very important to learn how to consistently short hop, fast fall waveland over them (shielding at the end of the waveland when necessary) to slowly get in range. Also, a well timed rising fair will destroy both blocks (if they aren't desynched). The key is to keep an eye on the IC's, not just the ice blocks; they're going to try and wait for you to get in an awkward moment where you can't attack. Typically, this is when you jump in too close to get rid of an ice block with a fair and they pounce in for a grab or aerial. Be patient; slowly work yourself in range by short hopping fairs and wavelanding while not going for too much in gaining ground and putting yourself in a susceptible position (no jumps left, inside tipper range, too much shielding). Practice that and quickly manuevering up and down platforms and you should be good.

Also, try using the search function next time before you make a topic about character strategies :)

Actually, jumping over the Icicles is a good strategy. IC's=Marth without the aerial game. Also, notice how when you get close to IC's they tend to run away a little bit, to keep their spacing. If you just stay relatively close, they won't be able to shoot icicles.

SHFFL F-air and use lots of D-tilt. Refrain from F-smashing excessively.

Just space properly so they can't grab you for any of this and you should be fine.

When you get a lead (a stock or significant percentage) then camp on a platform until they approach. Don't stay above them, however; IC have a good Uair. By camping them, you force them to approach. In turn, you get to use Marth's sh retreating F-airs, which are virtually impossible to punish by IC and it ***** them.
