Having trouble adding New Music (It's worked before though)

So 'i've added music before to stages both custom and PM stock with no trouble using the brawl song manager in the bawl manager, but lately I've had trouble getting new songs to play in PM. In the song manager they play just fine, but they have an asterisk next to the BRTSM file on the right pane. I've had trouble with FD and a modded Lylat Cruise, and a modded Yoshi's island (melee).

Anyone got a fix or some advice?

I just plays the defualt song, not the BRTSM I replaced it with. In the song manager it plays the correct song though.

I've never had an issue where it only plays the default song, but my solution should produce the same results.

Try copying all of the songs in strm to a separate folder outside of the SD card, delete all of the music in strm, then move the songs that are having issues into strm first, then move the rest into strm.
