I've been having struggles picking a specific character that I wanna dedicate most of my time in maining and learning the character. I've been flip flopping between a couple of characters, but have a handful that I am considering swapping to.

I'll sort the characters on how familiar I am with the characters

:ultbowser: Bowser
:ultwolf: Wolf
:ultfalco: Falco
:ultroy::ultchrom: Roy/Chrom
:ultfox: Fox
:ultwario: Wario
:ultpit::ultdarkpit: Pit/Dark Pit
:ultyoshi: Yoshi
:ultpichu: Pichu
:ultgreninja: Greninja

Just curious on other's thoughts and opinions about picking a main, having pocket picks, matchups, and dealing with a character crisis

Thank you for feedback and advice

The character should be an description to how you like to play. We main characters, aside from love of franchise or w/e, because they are the most comfortable for our playstyle.

When you don't know who to play with, then it means you kinda don't know how you like to play. So, I'd advise getting someone who's pretty fundamental and has answers for all situation. This way, you aren't dictated by the character and are allowed to try and experiment with different ways to play.

All of those characters are great choices. Play who you find the most fun and get the most satisfaction out of. Don't overthink it.

I've been playing Roy and Falco across multiple games, can vouch for their rewarding progression with skill growth. Also loving Wolf even more in this game than in Brawl and PM, so yeah. Play whoever has the best combination of fun and *satisfying* victories for you. There is a difference between just winning, and succeeding, in my book.

Go with Wolf. He's very good. He has plenty of kill moves, an effective projectile, a reliable u-air combo.

When you go to the character select screen and you’re playing against friends or online main whoever you seem to keep going back to the most (and winning with)

Sarcasm? Can’t tell. Feels disingenuous. If not, you’re welcome, and you can ignore this next bit.

If so, then I don’t know what better answer you were expecting. Character crises are almost always the result of overthinking it. A majority of the characters you posted are going to end up being high/top tier. Just play who you have the most fun with.

these are all good choices, you have good taste in characters. here's what i recommend: play whoever you have to do the least of amount of thinking to use. That is to say whomever you can use the moves of without thinking about it too much and can instead focus on the opponent.

Well if it makes you feel any better, Im in a bit of a main character crisis too. In my avatar you can see that I'm an Isabelle main, but I definitely play way more Ganondorf now and win a lot more with him. So that makes me a Ganondorf main? I guess the word "main" indicates the character that you use the most, which right now is definitely Ganondorf for me.

Now as for pocket picks, you can have really as many as you like. As long as you are comfortable with the character, understand their strengths and weaknesses and can play to them. It definitely helps to stick to a few characters for muscle memory's sake, but dont limit yourself.

Its ok to flip flop between characters. We're playing a GAME after all.
