Why do the haircut places always shampoo and then cut? It seems like the more effective method, unless you come in like a total greaseball, is to cut the hair and then shampoo it to get all the small bits of hair out.

At the hair salon I go to, they shampoo>cut>rinse. So no little bits of hair. But you do have a point, those little bits of hair are a ***** to deal with if you don't go home and wash your hair again afterwards.

Weird, I just got my first haircut in 3 months today...

What she did is cut half the hair (sides and back), THEN shampoo and rinse it, then finish on the top. Huh?

Well, my hair salon always Shapoos, Rinses, dryes, than cuts.

I never minded since it actually feels better when someone else is washing your hair

I've always had shampoo, rinse, dry so that it isn't soaking, but is still wet, cut, dry. Then again, I haven't gotten a haircut in over a year... Long hair FTW? But I'm getting one next week, I think. It's time. So I guess not FTW after all.

When they shampoo your hair, it kind of feels like a message...on your head.

Also, there is one razor that feels good against your skin when they are cutting your hair.

I go to a hair salon, so I don't have a barber.

When I think of a barber though, I think of some big, chubby bald guy with a mustache, some kind of suit and hat with an apron on.

...Massage from that doesn't sound pleasant.

I haven't gone to a barber in...4 years? I've been cutting my own hair. 0_o"

Saves like 9 dollars per run. Well anyway, that doesn't make much sense to me either, but the places I went to usually just give the haircut and wash my hair afterward. Maybe the place you're going to is messed up =P

For how much my hair cuts cost, they probably aren't messing up with my hair.

It's a lot more expensive than $9

Huh...well how much does it normally cost you to get your hair cut? I've had ones ranging from 9 dollars to 25 dollars, I believe. Sadly, I've noticed little difference in quality because I don't care too much about my hair cuts

When I get a haircut all they do is spray water on my hair and then chop it off lol.

I wish someone would shampoo my hair..
This.

... You know, as lovely as getting an infraction is right now with just a "this. 10char." post, I'll say something this time.

They just get that bottle that squirts a mist of water per squeeze, shave off the sides, make the top short (as I want it), then I have to tell them to get rid of the sideburns.

Oh well, I can deal with n shampoo/massage/whatever as long as my head doesn't constantly itch after it's all done and taken care of.

I don't know why they offer to put hair gel on my head after they're done, usually I get it cut short, and I take a shower as soon as I get home... what's the dealio?

Yeah, usually the 9 dollar haircut places just wet hair, cut it, and send you home. I hate those little pieces of hair though.

LMAO! I just got that image in my head now. Thanks.

I get the same thing - mine has offered to shampoo it, but I don't let her do it. I shower nearly every day, but I make absolutely sure I get one before a haircut.

Being shampooed, conditioned and getting the scalp massage is the best part of the haircut experience.

Last time I actually had someone else cut my hair, they ripped my two cartilage piercings out of the top of my ear.
I have never been back. =p

When I do someone's hair though, I never shampoo it first because we're usually dying it in some way. Depending on what kind of dye it is, I may shampoo the dye out.

I always get my hair dyed and cut at the same time. So it's dye, shampoo, cut, blow dry.

Getting your head massaged when shampooing is the best thing ever.
