Hair bands on men: Too feminine or manly as hell?

So if you watch the world cup you see A LOT of players with long hair wearing hair/head bands. Well I have long hair, don't wanna cut it and it's getting in my eyes. I want a way to keep it out of my eyes so I'm thinking about going with the soccer/manband look.

From what I've read a lot of guys sport the look in europe but not so much in the United States. So what say you smashers, if you see some guy out in public with a hair band on what's your 1st judgement, if any?
