Hacking Brawl's Opening.bnr

I'm trying to edit the banner for Super Smash Bros. Brawl but it keeps turning out something like this:

I've tried everything, manually hexing it, using banner tools, I tried compressing with ntcompress.exe instead of gbalzss.exe, but i just can't get it to work
Does anybody have any suggestions, i think it has something to do with the compression method but i'm not sure

I honestly see no need for hacking that. Maybe you can delete everything, and simply start from scratch, because you probably made an error with hexing.

You can hack it using Wadder tools I believe, it shouldn't be that difficult. However, shhhhhhhhh

i edited it using the banner/wadder tools and it extracts fine on the computer, but the wii menu doesn't read it properly

Did you try installing the WAD using it, for a USB loader cause I'm pretty sure thats what its meant for.

i tried both burning a disc with the edited banner and injecting the banner into a wad and installing that with wad manager

The same pac as the title screen is...odd.
It has pictures from the opening movie, so i believe its texture hackable.
If you look, characters in it dont move at all-thier tgas. Just two tgas, front and back.
Cliff and water is edittable too.

.bnr stuff is WADDerable generally, thats what its meant for.

Unfortunately, raganook's only contact really is with Stack Smash after his the Syntax Error stuff went down..... Stupid lawsuit

hey, is it possible to install brawl as a wad? i've seen people have a disk channel and a brawl channel on their wii (but that was probably just using the image on another channel)
