The follow is taken from : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guitar_Hero:_On_Tour

"Guitar Hero: On Tour is a music video game for the Nintendo DS system, based on the Guitar Hero series of video games. The game will be developed by Vicarious Visions and published by RedOctane and Activision, for release in North America during the summer of 2008. The game simulates the use of the guitar-shaped controller used in other games in the series by providing a "Guitar Grip", a unique four-fret adapter that fits into the GameBoy Advance slot on the DS unit. The game will feature more than 20 licensed songs."

Even through I don't play Guitar Hero, this looks very interesting because it's very portable and looks decent on the DS. Discuss.

Taken from : http://kotaku.com/370127/guitar-hero-on-tour-officially-detailed

"On Tour will use a pick-stylus and touch screen strings for strumming and that fancy Guitar Hero Guitar Grip for fretting. The game will include a local wireless co-op mode and a Guitar Duel battle mode with battle items unique to the DS. Some examples include forcing a player to blow into the microphone to put out pyrotechnics gone wrong and being forces to autograph the touch screen to stave off crazed fans in the middle of a set.

The game will have five new unlockable venues. You can customize the game a touch by changing the color of your guitar and picking outfits for your guitarist. The DS version will come with six characters, two of which are new to this version. The rated E 10+ game is due out this summer."

There's more information on the link above as well.

The sound quality of the songs will probably decrease too when they squeeze more than 20 songs into the DS cart.

And at least they haven't announced Rock Band on the DS...yet

Only 4 fret buttons... interesting...

I'm afraid I won't be buying this one right away. Maybe if they have demos at the shops and I have an opportunity to try it out, then I can consider it. Otherwise, not interested right now.

I hope the GH series doesn't end up killing itself with all the new games and ideas that seem to be spewing out. What's next, Keyboard Hero?

ooohh oooh, what about....VIOLIN HERO!!!

blah, the premise is very good, but i think that it's just not going to work with GH veterans.

Guitar Hero: On Tour grip works with DS Phat

http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/31/guitar-hero-on-tour-grip-works-with-ds-phat/

"We have to admit that the first time we saw the elegant, though not particularly guitar-like peripheral Activision had created for the DS' Guitar Hero: On Tour, we were concerned. It wasn't the missing orange button (we're fans of anything getting easier, whether it's fake guitar playing or cutting things), no, we were more worried that owners of the original DS (the DS Phat, on the streets) would be excluded from the fun by their system's girth.

But now, Activision has dispelled our fears with the announcement that the Guitar Grip will work with both of the models. Now, Phatties, as for actually being able to see the notes in anything but perfect lighting, we're afraid you're on your own on that one."

I'm happy that they still care about us original DS owners (like me). =)

I'm so impossibly torn right now. This looks so unbelieveably stupid, but I thought the same thing about Elite Beat Agents; and I LOVE Elite Beat Agents.

I'm probably going to end up buying it. =/
