I didn't see a thread for these awesome games, so I decided to make one. This is basically a thread to discuss guitar hero and rock band.

My experience with music games started in late 2007 at a toys r us. I was walking around in the video game section and I saw this game called guitar hero 3. There was a demo of it nearby and I decided to give it a try. I was quickly addicted to it. Until Christmas 2008, The only way I could get my fill of GH was when I went with my dad to uncle's house which was only every once in a while. I got a Wii that christmas along with other stuff including a copy of GH3 which came with two guitars. From that point on, I could get my GH fix whenever I wanted. I started out on easy. It took a while for my pinky finger to get used to the blue fret, But I eventually got the hang of medium. I have tryed on several occasions to play on hard difficulty, but I think it'll be a while before I can play on hard on a regular basis. So far, the only songs I managed to play on hard are Slow Ride, When You were Young from GH3, and That's What you Get from rock band 2. This past Christmas, I got rock band 2 and GH5. I spent my Christmas money on Guitar Hero World Tour. Anyways, That's my tale thus far.

I'm pretty good at GH/RB, here's a tip for you on hard and expert move your hand down so that the pointer finger is on the red fret, it's easier to move it up to green than your pinky down to orange

Should we have a GH/RB war? ha ha ha [/Giant Demon Troll]

I played RB2 and Beatles. I main the drums. I suck at it now because I havent played in so long. Brawl pulled me away from it haha I used to come home from school in the blazing sun on bike and dip into the basement with no lights and no shirt to cool off, while I play on my own for a bit. Been able to do some expert but I throw myself offbeat easily now.

That guitar tip is vastly known :), but I don't do it should I play a non-pad-beating instrument.

Some of the Beatles songs are surprisingly tough to do on drums, because of the high tempo, but most are chill and I dig that. Too bad RB2 didn't get Guns n Roses - Paradise City. I would rock out to that song with any instrument.

Guitar hero ruined my life for 5 months.I didn't pick up a real guitar once after I got it.
Although I did 5 star every SET LIST song in GH3.

I did loads of the extra ones too including "Devil went down to Georgia" and "Through the Fire and the Flames"

Every guitar hero since 3 has been super easy.

yeah gh3 was the hardest of the GH games, but songs like caprici di diablo and satch boogie on RB2 are far harder, look up caprici, it's not as hard as it looks, but satch boogie is MUCH harder than it looks

I personally thought Satch Boogie was easy.

Anything is after Devil went down and Through the fire.

I used to play Guitar Hero games semi-competitively. I stopped caring after I bought World Tour. At that point, so I feel, Guitar Hero just began including popular songs that weren't even notable for any technical music skills. It just became easy and boring. It's just catering to hipsters at this point. I'll still play it at parties and whatnot, but I no longer have any interest in being a skilled, competitive player.

Also; I can play facing away from the TV. That was a fun trick. People accuse me of having no life. Their allegations are justifiable.

Through the Fire and Flames is massively overrated. If you can tap the intro, you can beat the rest of the song.

He's also talking about Rock Band anyway. Rock Band is pretty ****ing hard at times.

Anyway, Rock Band wins in the GH v RB war, imo. Rock Band has a better presentation, on-disk song choices (purely my opinion there), more/better DLC, stricter timing, a character creator that doesn't suck, and it doesn't have a new release every two months.

I don't know about that. That song gives me trouble. You'd think it wouldn't be as hard on the lower difficulties, but as I painfully found out, it still is:urg:

While we're on the topic of that infamous song,http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BplIrU1Sdtc
