Gravity Grenade DI-based Combos

[Rewrite]

This is more of an awareness post than anything as I haven’t seen this information posted anywhere else on the site.

Sheik’s custom side special, Gravity Grenade, has guaranteed true combo follow ups at any percentage based on your opponent’s DI.

At earlier percentages you’ll have to be closer to your opponent when the grenade explodes, but at higher percentages you can catch them from really far away.


No DI → Up-Smash

Down and towards → Grab (Doesn’t work on really heavy characters), Jab, tilts, forward smash, down smash

Up and away → Aerials

Missed tech → Jab lock

I'm wanting to say that if you hit them with it while standing close by (so that they blow past you) you can hit a Bouncing Fish as well. Also, at medum-high percents, you can bounce them back and forth a time or two with additional grenades.

Not entirely sure about the DI required on either of these as I haven't really invested a lot of lab time on this custom move.

The Gravity Nade to Slammin' Salmon isn't very good. It only starts working effectively after up-smash starts killing. At certain percentages though you can combo it from Gravity Nade --> Grab/Aerial --> Slammin' Salmon.
