I know there is a thread for this in general discussion, but I feel it should be mentioned here as well, considering how influential and inspirational he has been to us.

I never met Sean B, or Forward as he's better known. And I think now I never will. I don't know enough to write a biography. I can't tell you what he's like in person, or what he even looks like. But for many of us, that never really mattered.

I know that Forward played an exquisite Falco, and is highly respected in the smash community for his innovations and talents. His Falco inspired many of us to take up our beloved bird and fly us on to victory. From what I saw on these boards, he's an extremely intelligent player, and was working on a level that most of us can never hope to even come close to. Forwards amazing play style captured me personally, and I slowly work to emulate it.

I don't know the exact details of his retirement from smash, whether it means no more friendlies, or even if it means no more visiting these boards. Like I said, I'll leave the biography to some one better suited for it. What I do ask, is someone close to him is this: From the countless Falco players out there, and the entire smash community, pass on our deepest thanks for inspiring us to perform better, and bestow upon him our greatest wishes in all his endeavors.

From a fan you'll never know, Good luck Sean.

I agree with Mathos. It's hard for one to retire, especially the exceptional players.

I say this because I got him to play a couple days ago lol. It's takes a little convincing but he'll play.

I can honestly say he probably is completely done with competitive smash though. Long live Sean forward B.

I would normally close this thread but my boy deserves a thread dedicated to him. Carry on.

Forward you're way cool and good at Smash. Too bad I never met you while the other WA guys got to.

On the retiring note, it is very hard. I once retired for a year after being competitive with skypal for 2 years, then I came back last year and have been competitive since.

I guess it's best for a beloved Falco main to retire before they're just driven to degrade themselves and main Fox.

Shame to see Forward go. Who do we have now to tell us to 'check our frames, son?'

I wanted his controller. <_<

Though I am quite upset to see him leave the competitive Smash scene. I wonder if he's still offering lessons.

Nobody retires from smash. You only take breaks.

Sean's really burnt out, and probably doesn't feel like playing melee much again. But are you going to tell me that over the next 4 months until brawl he won't find the craving again? He'll be back ;)

Also: lol B-Will, you haven't been on in forever. Where have you been?

It's sad to see someone leave the smash community. Why is he retiring?

When Brawl comes out, is everyone just going to stop playing Melee (putting vids on YouTube, hosting tournaments, etc., etc,)? Who else has Brawl-anxiety? I hope it's pretty good. I'm scared to have to leave Melee for Brawl, since I just started advanced techniques somewhere last year, and no one will play Melee anymore (at least where I live).

i would believe nobody asked Forward this but what controller does he plan to use for his upcoming brawl tournament in AZ. just about everybody knows he gave his controller to Bombsoldier. does he plan on using a wii related controller?
