Good idea, but how to publish? Help, plz?

Okay, so I've got a good idea for a cartoon for, say, Adult Swim, or Toonami, or something like that. It's really funny, (and I mean REALLY, not one person has not hysterically laughed at the ideas), it's action packed, it's got a story to it, the whole shebang, (shebang spelled right?) Anyway, it's been growing in my head for about a year and a half now, and now there's several characters, plotlines, conflicts, and it's just cool. The very thought of it being on actual television just seems awesome- to the max.

So, anyway, I decided to try to find out how/where to even get it known by the people who CAN make changes to television like that, so I've been searching for a while, but can find NOTHING. This is, technically, also a get-rich-quick plan, but I'd still like it to somehow be out in the public. Do any of you know what I could do to make this idea a reality? Or to at least get on the right track of making it real? Any input will be deeply appreciated.

Your best bet is to contact Adult Swim and hope for the best. But I hope you realize television shows, ESPECIALLY cable aren't ways to "get-rich-quick" ESPECIALLY on Adult Swim. If you get a following you'll see some bucks, but it won't happen just because they air your show a few times.

Call them or something and best of luck really.

You're 17 years old. The only way this could happen for you is if you already contacts in the industry. Obviously, you don't.

And just because the people you've shown the ideas to thinks it funny doesn't mean it really is. For instance, a fic I wrote years ago, according to me and all the people who read it, was awesome. Seriously, they should've turned it into a book or something.

Actually, it sucks. But none of us knew any better at the time.

It sounds like you have a lot of ambition, which is fine I guess, but people aren't just allowed to start new TV shows with no experience in the industry (which you obviously don't have). It sounds like you just want to be Seth MacFarlane. He became pretty famous basically overnight due to Family Guy hitting, but he had to work very hard for that. He worked for years on Johnny Bravo and a couple of other shows, and then Fox asked him to do a pilot episode. For the pilot episode, he basically had to draw the entire thing himself. And this was only because he had met people in the industry working on Bravo and other shows.

If you're really, truly serious that this is what you want to spend your life doing, go to college for art or writing or something, and try and get hired on someone else's show. You'll meet other people in the industry, and eventually you may get your shot. But yeah, you basically have no options right now to get your show on the air.

Of course, there's always the animate-it-yourself-and-submit-it-to-Newground/Youtube option. But you want notoriety and money, neither of which Newgrounds or Youtube brings.

The best advice I can give you is make a first episode by yourself(or with friends that can draw really well) and submit it to adult swim. If you make that episode PERFECT then maybe they will consider you.

Trying to make it from rags to riches by a cartoon premier isn't exactly... easy.

Like McFox said, you'll need experience, you'll need a whole staff, you'll need publicity, you'll need an actual network to consider, etc...

And then there's the fact that your story just might not be that funny. Some people might find it funny, but some isn't everyone.

Go into writing, get an internship at some network, once you get your feet nice and wet, consider doing something like that. Other than that, Adult Swim isn't going to consider a seventeen-year-old no-one's idea.

I will be blunt. You won't get this show published. If anything, someone will steal the idea since you are a naive kid and use you to propel themselves up. Basically, you need to get experience as McFox said.
