Question...

How can I make certain parts of a texture have a gloss or shine? like Samus or Squirtle's shell.

Like I how would I go about making Toon Link's boots have a gloss or his hat or even his sword and shield.

Thanks.

Well, these characters simply do it through textures. Until we can properly rebuild models(and thus, add new textures AND change how they affect a character), you can't really do this.

I guess you could make the lightest parts of the character's textures a bright color, to give the illusion of a shine.

Yep. They do it with a Ref texture, which stands for REFlect. Certain characters already have it. But for TL, there are 2 ways you can do it:

1) Be clever with photoshop, just make the texture look glossy.

2) Use an emerald/dark texture. This way, your character will be VERY glossy. But this affects the whole character, and cant be used for just certain parts.
