Global Online Mode?

Hi.

I recently found this page and i was hoping to get informations about the multiplayer modes for the 3ds.
Is it going to be local mp such as fire emblem awakening or global mp?

I'm just really curious and even a little bit scared because I'm really looking forward to play smash 4 online and if it will be only local mp I have to buy a Wii U D: .

I'm really hoping for Wi-Fi options, along with single-card DS Download play for local. The lack of the former really killed games like StarFox 64 3D.

There will definitely be online [global] multiplayer. It will not be usable between different versions of the game, nor will any kind of multiplayer.

and yeah,it'spretty much impossible to have worse Wifi then Brawl,so it will be better.

A lobby such as in the new Pokemon X & Y could be interesting. It would be cool ,too if they would use the touchscreen (only in the lobby) for a virtual keyboard so you can chat witch eachother.

This is why online is so important to me. I live pretty secluded and the closest biggest city still only has like 50k residents. Online is really the only way for me to play with other people.

Maybe they were against global online because countries like Korea have such crazy fast internet that leaves other countries in the dust, and they didn't want countries with slower download speeds to ruin their experience?

i never had any issue with it. Very rarely did i lag playing online, and then it probably was the other players suckish internet or mine acting up. I have so many online games played now

I really hopes it's really awesome as KI:U multiplayer and doesn't lag like Brawl's online multiplayer because I'm looking forward to playing Online on the 3DS a lot.

You seem to be the odd one out. Even with a great connection and the ability to run WoW without issue, I still would have lag in matches. Even if it's not very bad, it ruins gameplay as decisions require you to move quickly.

Since Sakurai gave KI:U wifi, I doubt he will take it away. Also, games like a 3DS smash bros and pokemon would be 1000 times better with wifi. Would you play Pokemon X or Y as much if it didn't have WiFi? Same goes with Smash. I only have one friend who might get a 3DS. I would really need WiFi to enjoy the game. Maybe I could battle people at lunch during school, but that's it.

LOL I don't have any friends at my school that have a 3DS so at lunch I'd be playing it all alone D: but it won't matter I at least get to unlock all characters if I haven't xD

Good try, but not good enough. Also, now that I think about it, I don't think local multiplayer being locked to only one region would be bad. Having online mode being locked to one region. Now that's bad.
