Here is the place to discuss playstyle and mechanics gimmicks in the current metagame. Just to be clear, a gimmick can be described as a strategy that works well currently, but is destined to grow stale an ineffective as more people learn to deal with it. Discuss what current gimmicks are, why they're effective, and propose a solution to work around them.

I have heard many people say that once this game hits the Wii U that Ness will become a lot less effective since the improved control scheme will make it easier to weave around his projectile game. I also think Little Mac is the biggest gimmick in the game and once people learn to extend their combos longer and edgeguard better, Mac will barely have a chance anymore.

So yeah, talk about gimmicks.

Using abandon ship or whatever the official name is for the Koopaling/Jr Up-B to get explosion kills. I can't tell you the number of KOs I've gotten on players by doing this above them and watching the exploding clown kart send them flying. It's very situational, often unsafe and is basically either a very hard read or counting on the fact that your opponent hasn't seen it before.

There very well may be a tactic or edgeguard that comes out of using the move, but I'm talking about 100% unsafe they don't know it's coming above other unsuspecting users.
