so I bought Brawl and now im realizing that it's a joke to competitive smash, I used to play melee competitively but with friends. Even though these boards are dead im asking if someone can help me get rid of my brawl Falcon, it's seriously hindering my melee Falcon.

somethings im really having a tough time with is my WD, I can do it if I take the time to set myself up (cause I only WD to pull my running momentum backwards or to edgehog) but that's it, I can't do it anymore frequently, when I know I should be, and also my SHFFL is a bit lacking.

so anytips, vids, or advice? (btw I read the stickies)

haha this is were you belong. practice. dont try to air dodge. practice moonwalking. work on shffling one thing at a time. ex. short hopping. then add fast falling. then add the ariel, then the l cancel. dash dancing is good to remember too. and no falcon kick/dive attacks.

i know im new here but i was in the same situation a few months ago and the only advice i can give is to practice. Eventually you'll get the muscle memory.

Wait. What the hell? Brawl players use Falcon Kick as an approach?

...I kinda figured no one used Falcon. He got the shaft hard in Brawl.

I dunno, if you're forced to play Brawl, don't play characters similar to the ones you main in Melee. You won't get confused then.

You could keep doing some things that you normally do in Melee. Like L-canceling. It won't do anything, obviously, but it doesn't hurt.

I basically only used Falcon Kick when I entered a Brawl tournament lol. DON'T DROP YOUR SHIELD! Roll, wavedash, or aerial out of shield, but that's it. Spot dodge is awful so it's not in the list.

ya I had the same problem a month or so ago, brawl gets you into to many bad habits. I don't even play falcon in brawl but when I cam back to melee I was rolling and shielding way to much. My advice would be to play good people who can punish you for your crappy brawl habits that's what I did and I was able to correct them fairly quickly.

LOL WTF. Falcon Kick is 222good in Melee. Stomp -> Aerial Falcon Kick on Spacies at like 90%. ***** THEM.

But seriously...don't use falcon kick...ever.
