It happens to everyone, whether you are on Battlefield or not. The ledge just decides to not do its part and grab you. Post vids/talk about your experiences. Here's a recent one of mine.

no its not battlefield its you. learn how to do the edges. the game has been out for 5 years and if you can't do it then you should quit ssbm.

Not everyone has been playing for 5 years and almost everyone is battlefielded at one point or another. basically on battlefield if you hold towards the ledge you can fall through the same as when you hold down on any other map.

since you know how it works you should easily be able to work around it

i have more trouble with ending up under the stage when trying to up-b from directly under the edge (marth, doc, etc)

it doesn't matter how long he's been playing. its a john, plain and simple. it's apart of the game and it's super ****ing easy to do. it's like saying it's ok to not wavedash after being on smashboards.

Well, since you have been hearing the same john since you have been playing the game, and the john makes you angry, the game makes you angry and you should stop playing it.

5150's just being a **** for no reason. Yeah it sucks when that happens and although it is avoidable, the truth is sometimes it's just too close to know for sure whether you will get the ledge or not. Another thing I have trouble with sometimes is when I ledge hop with certain characters - namely Samus - I start holding towards the stage too early, so when I midair up I get caught under the stage. Pretty annoying.

Everybody in this thread needs to chill. Kick off your Birkenstocks, grab a Natty Lite, and play some Gamecube... ;)

yeah, what 5150 said: just don't hold forward when you are up+b'ing and you shouldn't have a problem. Battlefield REALLY sucks for people like doc, mario etc who get pushed UNDER.

annoying sure

but predictable; you know exactly what happened (you went towards the stage too early) and realize that it is preventable

the original post said

The ledge just decides to not do its part and grab you
which implies that it is a random occurrence. it's not, so there's no real reason to complain about it as unfair

Dude no one ever told me that letting go of the stick stops you from getting battlefielded. -_-... it being a habit to let go pays off... but c'mon, how come I never ran across that knowledge in a YEAR of tourneys x_X?
