Went to Race's Tournamen(If you live in California, you probably heard about it) and got 49th out of 87 people. I've been using Snake for only a month, and I went from not being able to go past R1 in winner's OR loser's bracket to this. It's not the best placing, by far, but I'm very satisfied with my progress.

Also, my Snake is more developed than my last videos. I'm using more Nair, more zoning with Down+B's. I'm getting into the habit of using an aerial to hit someone after something explodes beneath me. I'm even landing Fsmash more because I'm managing to instill fear into my opponents with all of the explosions going on.

And I can still tell that my Snake is nowhere near as good as it can be. Thankfully, I have awesome guys like Hall, Ajax, and DSF(he still plays Snake somewhat) in my area who I can learn a lot from.

Also, Havokk, we live sorta close to each other-you going to the major San Diego tourney this coming Janurary?

Great job dude I know that its not super special or anything but I always like to give props to people who are progressing and serious about getting better. I hope you go far and represent the Snake community well. I'm a growing Snake myself and I've just been doing what I can to get better. I've been practicing/winning at these smaller tourneys so I would love to pro someday. Anyways nice work and keep learning. :)

I can't travel far for tourneys, parent's refuse to drive me.

I only go to locals really :/

Unlucky (as far as I know) I'm moving in Feb. so I'll have to rediscover the smash scene and any locals that may go on. (and if none, make them XD)

/ end useless comment

Where are you moving? I guess I'm lucky I'm apart of the Detroit smash scene and there's a lot of good players here...there's a lot of arrogant ones but I've met some cool people at these tourneys. I'm planning to enter some larger scale tournament after some training so I'm looking forward to that. I've won a few tourneys so far so I'm happy with my progress. I prefer going around and discovering new places to smash than playing online anyway. Wi-fi = fail.

Man, I always feel like I'm the youngest smasher here. I'm only a freshman in high school. =/

I'm only a sophomore =p so you're not that far behind.

( I also started playing Melee competitively (and winning) when I was 10 =p.

^^^LOL @ HB Smash Scene....

I'm moving to valencia or santa clarita (that area)

Also:

Wifi = Win (depending on how you play it)

Playing wifi to win = fail
Playing wifi to learn your moveset = win
Playing wifi to (somewhat) learn SPACING for your moveset = win
Playing wifi to learn human reactions = win (NOTE: Not HOW YOU REACT TO THEM! that's fail, but WHAT THEY DO. Example: They roll left, you make a mental note. Another (different) opponent rolls left, you make a mental note, etc. etc. etc. You start realizing that the first time you do X move, MOST opponents roll left FIRST. Thats learning human reactions)
Playing wifi to PUNISH human reactions = lmao fail.... it can -somewhat- build reaction speed if you're horrible at it (Ganon side-B tech chase against an opponent who never does an A get up for example. You'll get used to going left/right at proper times, in lag. Therefore if you have SLOW reactions, this helps. But offline is MUCH better for your reaction time)

/end long rant (theres more but I don't feel like listing it all)

Well, I played some friendlies today with my friends. I'm proud to say that I have reached a new plateau, and am now playing smarter than I used to. It's wasn't even gradual-there's a noticable improvement in my game, I've shed a lot of my bad habits almost overnight. Safe to say it was this tournament that helped me get past the barrier I've been inching closer and closer to in these past couple weeks, and I finally found that last little push to get me over it.

The awesome part of this is, I still have so much more room to grow. Both as a Snake main and as a player.
