Wow, I didn't know about that Booster cameo!
It's obviously a reference to Booster from Mario RPG... but I don't know if it's an official cameo or they just made a character that's similar to him just for reference.

Anyway Booster and maybe Croco, are the only 2 characters, aside from Geno and Mallow, that I would like to see again sometime, they were interesting. Maybe Booster was a bit too much similar to Wario?
And for Croco, I think that his role in modern Mario games is taken by the Nabbit, unfortunatelly (another character that's probably doomed to being forgotten forever in the future, better to not getting too fond to him).
Valentina and Dodo were also kinda interesting.

I really thought he had a shot. Especially because Diddy and Ike were confirmed in a row on the Dojo. I thought Geno was going to be next off that Sakurai poll. Does anybody know how I can send a letter to Nintendo about Geno? Im really desperate, and I won't feel better until I know I've at least written to them about this. I've wrote to them back in the late 90's and they did respond to me.

It was Final Fantasy 4. He was a boss in that first and Square made him a hidden boss in Super Mario RPG. I think Culex is as done as any other Final Fantasy Villain. (May appear in a fighting game like Kefka and Sephiroth and maybe Kingdom Hearts)

Super Mario RPG also had cameos of other Nintendo franchises though, both Link and Samus could be found napping at the inn. Way to beat Smash brothers to the nintendo crossover, obviously the prophet behind this was Geno and he should be made DLC for smash brothers.

Or Mallow. Whatever.

Also the talk of Majora's Mask's upcoming 3d remake and remembering the maps and gameplay of this world plus the art style compared to the more sprite like mario and luigi series makes me want a 3d remake for this game to start yielding the way to true sequels to the franchise.

That was amazing! It's sad that it went unused since the remix is as good as the original.

Nintendo has been trying to replace some of characters with recent games. Geno has been replaced by Rosalina in SMG, and Croco was replaced by Nabbit in NSMBU. Booster might have been replaced by Wario but I'm not certain. Valintine and DoDo haven't and neither has Smithy, Wart, and their right-hand men either.

I've been playing SMRPG again and remembered some other entertaining people from that game. Grate Guy and Knife Guy would probably just run a casino like they did in the game and Booster, Snfit 1,2, and 3 would likely cause trouble with their shenanigans. I know there is more but I haven't gotten too far for my second play through.

It was posted 4 months before ign did make interview with alphadrem about using geno and mallow again. and alphadream didn't say they need square Enix to use them. so maybe it's real

On the 3rd of December people have said that Nintendo put up a tweet and then took it down.

It was thought that Nintendo would announce it at the Video Game Awards but that didn't happen. So it was probably just made up.
