The Cave will be hosting bi-weekly tournaments, probably rotating between singles and doubles.

THIS IS A BYOC EVENT

Matches are 2/3, random neutral for the first, and counterpicks for the second/third.

Entry fee is $10 per person.

The Cave sells food/drinks/energy drinks

There will be time for friendlies before and after, so come early and stay late.

Tournament starts at (subject to change) 4:00

Bracket will be randomly generated.

I'm going to to try to make it this itme, with maybe someone form my crew. Also i'll prolly be taking the Metra there. And according to mapquest, this tounry is very close to where the sotp is for Geneva.

Last time I went, it ended close to 6 PM with 22 participants. There are 4 to 6 TVs set up for the tourney, so it really doesn't take too long.

And I'm going to this for sure, unlike that doubles tourney I said I'd go to. I'll be there before noon for friendlies and I want to play a set with everyone, just to see how I compare.

Yeah, so if a random stranger comes up to you and asks for a set, then you'll know it's me.

And there are no banned stages as far as I remember. First stage is random neutral and then losers pick from there. I remember seeing people play banned stages in the last singles tourney, so unless you ban a stage yourself, anything goes (I think).

The prize distribution is 60/30/10. So it depends on how many people show up. The payouts on our website are for most other tourneys that we have. We do it a little different for Smash tournaments. Basically the more people that come the better chance of winning.

We do have a metra station about 6 blocks away from us. Its an easy walk. It is the Metra UP West Line http://metrarail.com/Sched/cnw_w/cnwwwko.shtml

Lol, I've played Eddie like 3 times, once at Chi-burbs tourny, and 2 times at SGs.

At the last team tourny there were 8 teams and a few people didnt participate in that tourny..more than 16 at least..

At the last singles there were like 25 people..

I dont know the tournout for the first teams tourny because that wasnt advertised on smashboards.

Anyways..the last tourny definitly had more than 7 people...

I think one of the reasons for the low tournout was because it was right after your weekly one. I know Zjiin said that was why he didn't go, and I'm assuming that was the reason why some other people didn't show as well. Another factor might have been that it was on a Sunday. Big C, you have gone to one and are judging the turnout based on a low show. I went to the last singles one and there was at least 25 people there.
