Projected to play Samsora now, which is at least a runback from Prime Saga if both manage to get there.

On further inspection, it seems like every French player is underseeded. Oryon and Flow made 5th place at the pre-tournament.
I don't know, it doesn't matter all that much, probably. They eventually have to fight the best seeds eventually. But I think certain players are under the radar for some reason.

Funny enough, Sparg0 himself said works better as a counterpick/secondary character rather than a full-on main. Then again, he doesn't think very highly of Cloud in this game.

In other news, Sloth 2-1s Klaatu ; getting shield poked in a game 3 last hit situation honestly looks like one of the most annoying things about playing Olimar lol.

In terms of why players look underseeded, part of it could be because there are far more high-level Mexican players this time, more so than just the standard MKLeo and Maister. Most of them are hovering around the 30-50 spots (Sparg0, Joker, Chag, Regi, Bedgar).

Could've easily gone either way, especially after a verx commanding win of Oryon in the 1st game.

Frogs seem to be off to a shaky start at Genesis, between Stroder and Venia.

Tbf, I imagine Venia - or most players for that matter - haven't fought a lot of good Bayos, let alone one as good as Shadow_PR's lol.

That said, either Stroder or Gluttony will be eliminated at 49th place, and that'll be interesting to see.

Parrying seems like a really good idea against since can't punish her well-spaced/well-timed BAirs normally with just Whirling Fortress. It also gives him access to neat kill options like DSmash (that thing killed like at 90 mid-stage, yeesh).

Game 3 was pretty close, but the other games where a 2-stock victory (with game 4 being a 3-stock), so I won't call it close.
Still, Shadow_PR is pulling off an impressive performance today considering Bayo's current state.

Btw, Salem's character pool today is very erratic, switching off between Hero, Shulk, and Bayo at seemingly weird intervals. He has not yet used Snake, which is also very odd as well.

Edit: Nvm, Salem used solo Snake to defeat Ouch?! 3-2.

Remi, a Lucas main made 17th beating Chag, Blacktwins13, and Uncivil Ninja before his run ended to MVD in a tight Game 5 set. Personally, I am overjoyed and hope to see him go to more majors as I think he has a ton of potential as clearly seen by his performance at Genesis.

What a set between Dark Wizzy and Light. Light was so close to getting the reverse 3-0 In a last-stock last hit scenario. But that whiffed Up-Smash confirm at that end costed him the set sadly.

Man Marss just seemed to be in ESAM's head the entire set. Mind you Game 3 was a lot closer but man on that final stock Marss just, would not, die You could see it frusturated ESAM where he of course fell victim to Flip-Jump

On paper, it seems like Pika has an advantage over ZSS like in SSB4, but Marss' win record against ESAM throughout the entirety of Ultimate has been very dominant, and it continues into today.

ZSS in general has gained a lot of tools to better deal with shorter characters, with a lot of it having to do with her toolset being more well-rounded than in SSB4.

Samsora just barely closes it out in a very close Game 5 set against MKLeo .

The battle may have been won, but the war is far from over. MKLeo currently resides in Loser's, and outside of possibly ESAM, I can't see anyone else standing in his way to have his match with Marss or Samsora.

Besides the Marss vs ESAM set, every match so far. in this Top 8 as gone to game 5 endingin a reverse 3-0 or almost reverse 3-0 situation . Its pretty hype and all, but these sets are going on forever and its getting late and got to go to work early tomorrow, lol

Dark Wizzy had it... he had Game 4... and then the SD happened. I know he he's probably kicking himself after that, but major props to ESAM bringing it back against all odds and overcoming one of his bracket demons. Such a phenomenal performance from Wizzy, definitely proving just how borked Mario is.

Things were looking good in the beginning of game 1, but after that, the sweeping commenced lol. Maister just can't seem to get the drop on MKLeo no matter what; MKLeo just has the perfect callouts for everything he's doing.
