Smash Lord
I'm really cool because I searched to make sure there were no threads about this first!!
But seriously, for those who love tower defense type games, this one's for you. I'm actually not huge on tower defense, but this game's amazing. Basically, you are a wizard defending your base, monsters will come out of one or more locations (I believe they only come out of multiple locations in chapter zero, but I can't remember) and you build towers that you put gems in that damage these monsters. The gems have different colors which determine abilities, and you can combine them for multiple abilities and to reach a higher level of gem, which will deal more damage. You can also build trenches that will make the monsters move slower, so your gems will hit them more as they move past the them, as well as more towers. The amount of mana you have determines what you can create, and is also your source of life, in a way (but it works a lot better than it did in Paladin's Quest). Each time a creature comes to your tower, you use a certain degree of mana to banish it back to the beginning. Once you're drained of mana or have none to banish it back to the beginning, you lose, as the monster would kill you (that's the concept behind it, anyway). You can gain experience level up, and with each level, you gain 5 stat points (I believe it's 5, it is in chapter zero). These can be used to purchase skills such as lower mana cost or having more/better gems at the beginning of a battle, et cetera. It's really cool, I won't even lie.
Chapter 1, the first one, can be found here: http://armorgames.com/play/1716/gemcraft
Chapter Zero, the prelude (which was released recently), can be found here: http://armorgames.com/play/3527/gemcraft-chapter-0
I'd recommend playing the first one first, naturally. Chapter zero's a bit more intense, I find. And, does anyone here already play this?
