GC adapter Launcher?

I'm a little confused on this, does this mean there's a launcher I can get for my Gamecube controller adapter to work with PM on my WiiU or is this a PC compatibility thing?

It's referring to the Project M launcher application - the menu with "play", "update" and so on. GameCube controllers now work there on Wii U, but not with the actual game.

I can't even get the launcher to respond using the adapter.

So we get an update so we can plug in our adapter and select play, but cant actually play the game with GC controllers?
I'm questioning the logic behind this... It's almost like a tease.
