okay today I was playing at school against my crew mate and although when I play my other characters against his ganon I do fairly well and can win (peach, marth, fox) when he played my ic's he 3 stocked me. i played again and he took of a stock before I could hit him and i only got him upto 50% before he killed me again. it seems that his ganon spreads my characters apart easily. i don't seem to have much trouble against other characters as much as him?

Any suggestions on what tactics to use. I can't even wobble (not that i'd like too) because I can't even grab him (I can wavedash perfectly and mindgame people into it except for his ganon)

Also what stage is most in my favor in this match-up?

don't ever resort to wobbling, i consider that sh*t a last-resort, dishonorable tactic xD. if you can do it or ever figure out how, i encourage you to repress it deeply within your heart <3.

anyways, the trick here is to space ganon as well as possible, but not become too defensive. all of ganon's approaches are very devastating to the shield, which is bad for shield-grabbing and especially destructive to nana. you're right, ganon has a very easy time killing her, so if you want to protect her, you should.

stay on point with wavedash spacing here, so that if he misses an aerial, you can quickly pop in and grab. be VERY CAREFUL though, because many ganon players will immediately do a jab if they see your wd coming. aside from the hard, shield-stunning aerials, ganon's jab is another way for him to avoid shield grabbing.

don't stay too focused on your grab game against ganon. he's difficult to grab. if you DO grab him, obviously you should capitalize on it and don't mess up a CG or grab combo (plz do not wobbles lol). but if you can't grab him, try different approaches. remember not to miss, but here are some options for non-grab approaches:

- dash attack - pops him up softly, sets up uair or bair
- dash cancelled usmash - same as dash attack but stronger, combo starter at low % and very strong at high %
- fair - sets up uair
- uair - if you know he's gonna jump, keep him on top where ic's are at an advantage from the ground
- wd filt/dtilt - incredibly fast ground approach, this sets up tech chases or grabs

on the other hand, here are some very dangerous no-no approaches
- wd grab if ganon is idle - ganon has WAY too many moves to destroy this. wizard foot, jab, double jump aerials, shffl aerials, heck, even up-B. before you grab ganon, always make sure you are able to grab him, because random grabs are going to get the ic's destroyed
- nanapult - you are sending nana to her doom. if you want a blizzard, do dash dance desynch blizzard, spot dodge, or back roll blizzards. keep nana close by.
- nair or dair - ganon is the mac daddy of CC, these moves will get you *****

uair a lot if he's on top. this is a good tactic against any character, and for ganon it's good because his only options coming down are dair and wizard foot, or an attempt to space an aerial. his air mobility isn't that great, so your disjointed uair should be able to keep him on top for a while. don't worry about killing him with some 0 to death combo... just damage him, find a way to get him off, and edgeguard accordingly, because ganon's recovery is pretty d*mn easy to guard.

also: your best stages are

- FD - bread and butter ic stage. best pick as always
- Dreamland - you need your space, space is good

hm, FoD is alright, the close death walls can be used to both ic and ganon's advantages
pokemon stadium is alright too, but when the stage transforms, ganon can use the rugged terrain to his advantage to prevent grabs
yoshi's story is a bad choice, ganon's overall reach will dominate ic's here

Lots of wavedash backwards to SH-F-air walls help with characters without much range like Ganon. Up-airs combo him pretty well cause he's pretty heavy.

Ugh...I hate playing against Ganon.

I think it was Trail who said Ganon is a character against whom you can't be afraid to use your aerials. You basically have to get in his face and interrupt him before the F-air comes out. Be ready with the U-air, B-air, or even N-air out of shield.

Resist the urge to ever approach him from above. His U-air cuts through anything you can throw out.

I'd be careful about retreating F-airs. Ganon's F-air is faster and longer than yours. Try it but don't force it.

I wouldn't go there. FoD is usually bad for the Ice Climbers. They have a number of good edgeguarding techniques and excellent recovery... Ganon's recovery is pretty lame (no matter what people say). The platforms also make it harder to grab and chain throw him. The only time I play there is against Jiggz who needs to be hit into a blastzone in order to not recover.

Final Destination, Pokemon Stadium and Dream Land are generally your best stages against most characters.

If you want to approach him you might as well try Ice Block Chaser, or Nana's Blizzard (gives you a chance to grab him). Other than that your best bet is to WD into d-smashes or f-smashes, although b-air is really useful because of it's speed and knockback. If you can, try to juggle him whenever he's in the air near you because otherwise he'll seperate you pretty well.

Ganon is also fairly slow and has few projectiles, so take advantage of that on larger levels like FD and spam Ice Blocks, forcing him to approach.

@Xephalon: If you don't SH it you'll set them back too far away from you, making it easy for them to recover.
