Southern CT is having a tourney at Gamingetc on May 8th. I would like to see a good attendance at this, CT has been lacking in tourneys for quite a while. It is in very southern CT, which means NY and NJ can very well make this if they wanted to. Any interest from NY/NJ? It's a big venue with a lot of room.

Rules

- All Matches are 3 stock, 8 minutes, with items set to off and none. All matches are best 2/3 except for Winners/Losers/Grand Finals which are best 3/5.

- First round is double blind character pick (if both players wish to). The first stage will then be determined by stage strikes. Players take turn striking out neutral stages until only one stage remains, which is the stage that is played.

- Second and third games, winner bans a stage, loser picks stage, winner picks character, loser picks character, then the match can start.

- No stage may be played upon twice within a set unless agreed upon by both/all players.

- You will be DQ'd if you are excessively late for your match. If you are going off site, you should tell someone where you are going

- In the event of a dispute for controller ports, rock-paper-scissors or a coin flip will be used. In teams the winner will select his port. One team gets Port 1 & 4, the other gets Port 2 & 3.

- In the event of a tie, determine by stocks, then percent. If a tie still exists, play a 1 stock match on the same stage with the same characters to determine the winner.

- For character specific suicide moves (Bowser, DDD, Ganon, Kirby) if it's done on the last stock, the character who initiated the move wins the match.

- Any action that causes the game to become unplayable (glitching, freezing) will count as a forfeit of the match for the person who initiated the action.

- Metaknight's Infinite Cape Glitch is banned.

* - Excessive stalling and planking are banned. (T.O.s discretion) The 40 ledge grab rule will be in effect FOR SINGLES AND DOUBLES. A player may not grab a ledge more than 40 times per match, or they will take a loss for that match. If you believe you are being stalled or planked, pause the match and call over a TO. For doubles, each player may not go over 40 ledge grabs for that match.

** - Scrooging is banned.

- Dedede's standing and small step chaingrabs are banned. Ice Climbers' infinite grabs are NOT banned. Wall infinites/locks are NOT banned because no legal stages have perma-walls.

- If you accidentally pause the match during and Ice Climbers chain grab while trying to break free, causing the ICs to mess it up, they will get a free chance to re-grab you. Please be careful about breaking out of grabs.

-BYOC (Bring your own controller).

- If you see someone doing something that is not permitted, please inform myself or another host and we will take care of it.

- No subbing is allowed for doubles.

•Neutrals
Battlefield
Final Destination
Lylat Cruise
Smashville
Yoshi's Island

•Counter Picks
Brinstar
Castle Siege
Delfino Plaza
Frigate Orpheon
Halberd
Pokémon Stadium 1
Rainbow Cruise

•All other stages are banned

* - Planking is repeatedly grabbing the ledge multiple times in a row to avoid contact with the opponent. You do not have to approach the opponent, but you may not plank on the ledge. Planking is also a form of stalling. Planking is also banned in doubles. This is due to the Pound 4 incident.

** - Scrooging is repeatedly gliding under a stage to the other side to avoid contact with the opponent. This is a form of stalling and is banned.

Last bump before the tourney.

Still no NY/NJ players going? For shame.
