It doesn't look like we've got a thread to discuss our observations of gameplay footage yet that isn't created to point out one detail, so I've decided to make one.

Nintendo World 2006*
0:15 - Mario Circuit Stage
0:52 - Kirby's Up+B remains the same as in Melee
1:31 - Snake rolls into a crawling position; Wario and Snake seen crawling
1:51 - Mario's Neutral+B remains the same as in Melee
2:05 - Wario appears to wavedash
2:06 - Zero Suit Samus uses a Falcon Kick style move in the air
*Add 5 seconds to these times if watching the GameTrailers version.

15 Second Presentation
0:08 - Fox's Up+B remains the same as in Melee

Snake Joins the Brawl!
0:37 - Looks like this may be Snake's character intro
0:50 - Mario performs a new sort of dash-grab
1:00 - Snake using a box. Unclear if it is a move or an item
1:02 - Snake performs a grab from behind
1:04 - Mr. Saturn and Homerun Bat confirmed
1:06 - Looks like Wario has the ability to eat items thrown at him

General Observations

I have also observed that Mario's tornado (Melee Down+B) has not been seen initiated on the ground. It can be seen used in the air on the "Snake Joins the Brawl" (0:51) and "Nintendo World 2006" (0:23).

I will not include anything on this list that has been shown in an actual update. Snake using a shield and Pit dodging have been removed from the list as of 04/10, likewise, Mario's Fireball is on the list, as it was not included in his Special Moves update. Any contributions I deem to be interesting enough will be added to this original post.

Also seems like Snake's neutral A combos have a rediculous amount of knock back. O.o

He also seems to have a backslam of a grab, and seems as if he gets a "sleeper" grab, if you can grab them from behind... Maybe there could be 8 grabs now? O.o

Seems if someone grabs the box off of him, he can't do anything, or it could have just been for 'fun.'

I don't personally know if I'm up for the whole "shinyness" whenever you hit someone, and it sounded like snake was using the tranquilizer every time he hit mario.
><

Off topic: I love you Mic, because I wouldn't have seen these videos until like... 6pm EST, otherwise. =P

Down B in air is tornado, and flood is a ground move, hmmmm??
Down A in the air is the tornado. Sakurai hinted at making the tornado a regular attack in an update because Down B is now the FLUDD. We are still unsure if the tornado can be done on the ground...probably not.

It appears that the Mario Tornado knocks opponents in a different direction than previously. In this video, he knocks Snake to the side, if it were Melee, I believe he would have been knocked upward. It also sounds like Mario's voice clip is different again for this move (in the original, he said "Yahoo" and in Melee, it was "Yee-haw," this time he sounds like he says "Oh-wah")

Snake seems a bit laggy when he uses the bat. I've not seen anyone else use it, or a weapon like it, yet, so I don't know if the bat slows everyone down or if Snake will just be slower to swing than others.

His Mine attack (Down Smash?) appears to consist of him digging a hole, planting the mine, standing, tossing the detonator into his hand and activating the detonator (or at least that's what I assume the sequence of him tossing the detonator and such to be related to). It makes me wonder if this is all done in one action, or if he can plant the mine with one Down Smash and then detonate it later with another.

Wow, I freaking love this update. It seems as though Snake has a lot of voice acting in this game. Hmm...does that mean other characters will have dialogue? God, this is the best game in the world.

The other vids released today tell us some other cool gameplay things, like Wario's fart allows him to fly. And it suggests that his breath can stun or poison or something....

His mine attack looks like that you have to rapidly tap a button (most likely B) to big a hole. When it is done it is planted. Hopefully you will hold a detonator in one hand and when you push B again it explodes. The video also makes it look like that Snakes up B just carries him up in the air. I assume that it will just stop after a little while. Another thing is that I can't tell exactly what Snakes style is. Because in the video he seems fast, yet slow at the same time. To me that is. And on the box thing I think that Snake can move at anytime, just that he sits there until you move him. Also when he knocks out Mario (looks like snapping neck), I just love that.

Also I was wondering if someone could answer something for me. In the Snake Joins the Brawl! video, in the third screen shot (last one before game play) what/who is Mario kicking? I can't tell and my friend is saying that it is Wario.

That was Hugh Jackman... David Hayter is Snake's voice, and he played a security guard in a 10-second scene in the first X-Men movie.

Oh yeah, his name waz wolverine
For one thing Wolverine was played by Hugh Jackman. David Hayter, the voice for Snake in every other Metal Gear Solid, is voicing Snake in Brawl. Another thing you just posted 4 times in a row which is against the forum rules.

It actually showed us likely what is Wario's B, which is the big bite that we see in so many of the screenshots. Apparently he can eat people (and cause some sort of lasting effect, like the flower from melee maybe?) or even eat some items thrown at him (like Snake's grenade).

And people... In the FLUDD update, they said that the Mario Tornado is a regular A attack... NOT a B attack.

Btw, pause it when Snake first grabs Mario, before he backslams him. Snake's grab automatically turns them around, so no, grabbing from behind isn't different.

This is 30 frames per second right? Because the animation seemed a little bit choppy.

Confirmed 60 FPS according to IGN. I think it's going to be a lot more noticeable when all four players are on screen, items flying everywhere, and the framerate still holds up.

Snake Joins the Brawl!
It seems we've seen bubble shields make a comeback in today's Snake video, and some good evidence to support intros, as well. It would also appear that Wario has the ability to eat items thrown at him... possibly to lower his damage percentage in a similar way to Ness' Down+B.
wow, ur amazing, how did figure all of this out? I mean its not like its obvious to anyone watching the video

I actually tried to start a discussion on how the gameplay looked to someone used to playing melee and it gets closed.

Yet this gets left open? Where all ur doing is pointing out obvious facts that anyone could pick up by watching the video.....
