I really enjoyed star ocean first departure, but I'm bias (I think star ocean the second story is the best game of all time) game of the year........ I would have to give it to left 4 dead, cause of the online co-op

I'm surprised it wasn't GTA IV, considering it got near enough a 10/10 on most reviews.

It should have been Imagine Girl Band though

X-play named Fable 2 game of the year. Is this right or should it have been another game and why?
Umm.. Wrong! Fable 2 was over-hyped, dog ****. Peter Molyneux needs to stop running his mouth and actually start making good games.

Trading in a fun game for a game that is an absolute bore? What a bad choice.

That's the best thing about Fable 2, and likely the reason X-Play gave it Game of the Year. It's fun, first and foremost. It's also easily accessible for people who don't normally play games. This is what more videogames need to be.

it,s an ok game but fallout 3 looks better and plus fable 2 looks like a beginners RPG while fallout 3 looks more like a hardcore RPG but then again fallout 3 really doesn't look like it has a big world like fable 2 so i may just keep fable 2 and wait for the patch

What do you mean Fallout 3 looks better? Graphically, Fallout 3 is brown. That's about it. It isn't a pretty game. It's muddy. Fable 2 has amazing lighting and uses every color of the rainbow. And then gameplay. Fallout 3's VATS system is the best way to play the game, but when using it, the game is pretty much playing itself. Through VATS or the real time combat, Fallout 3 just isn't fun. I guess Fallout 3 is a "hardcore RPG" if you love managing a bunch of equipment, but that's one of my least favorite things about games like Fallout 3 and Oblivion, so I'll gladly play Fable 2 where I don't have to worry about carrying too much equipment and I can wear whatever I want instead of having to switch to new armor just so I can make it through an area of the game. Let's not forget that Fable 2 has fun and simple (yet surprisingly deep) combat.

And Fallout 3's world is huge. Fable 2's is pretty small compared to it. There's definitely more to do in Fable 2, though.

SENSHU BUNPOU!!
I really really dissagree with Fable 2 being game of the year. I didnt like it anywhere near as much as I had hoped I wouldve. I beat the game in about a day, the side-quests and jobs seemed so annoying, and I didnt feel any sense of accomplishment when I got anything done in the game. Also didnt like how I had to use a 'henchman' if I wanted to play with someone, and dont get me started on the whole' sharing a screen during online play. Worst idea ever. The "Evil" and "Good" transformations were really bad too. I would get either horns or a halo. No matter what I had blue lines all over my body. Dog's color slightly changed. I didnt feel like playing the game too much.

My pick for Game of the Year would be somthing with a good online play. To me, thats where gamings at. Fighters, shooters, co-op. Left 4 Dead is just the absoloute athority on co-op play. No game emphesizes working together like this one does. One guy thinks he's the big cheese and trys to show off, its over for the whole team. But geez, Id pick Scene It! over Fable 2 as game of the year.

Its only FUN for about a week. Then your start realizing how repetitive it can get. I haven't played Fallout 3 yet, not that it looks any better.

A game like LittleBigPlanet deserves GOTY. Not MGS4, GTA IV, etc...

For the love of god as a Fallout fan I beg of you not to call Fallout 3 a hardcore RPG. Fallout 3 is a hardcore RPG like Deus Ex is a dating sim.

And yeah, for all the problems Fable 2 has it's fun and much better than Fallout 3.

Game of the year? It's not even a close call: Sins of A Solar Empire, hands down.
Smart choice! I'd completely forgotten. I mean, i haven't played it but that's a contender I think a lot of people had forgotten about.

Hahahaha!!! That's the best way to bomb a show that I used to have respect for! I can see it now: next years Fighting GOTY Award will go to a franchise that's not named Street Fighter or Tekken. That'll get people's attention! Meh!

Yeah, it should go to Guilty Gear. Nah, if they really wanted to lose credibility they'd do something like name a Mortal Kombat game fighting game of the year, or a new Bethesda title RPG of the year (oh wait...).

My personal game of the year was obviously Brawl.

But I think it will be between Metal Gear Solid 4, GTA 4 and Fallout 3 for most websites/magazines. MGS4 should win.
