Ok guys I need some help. Does anyone know what exactly causes the game to crash? Final Smashes, stages, SD card overloads? If anyone knows causes please post so we can avoid it in the future.

If you've got a custom stage exploit that runs Gecko OS on your SD card and your GCT doesn't have the "disable custom stages" code, it'll freeze.

Otherwise, it might be a freeze in the GCT itself with code conflicts.

I know a big cause (Though still very rare) is bad codes/download links. I know a lot of times I'll try to download a texture and my Wii will freeze when I select the texture in Brawl, but my Wii hasn't actually crashed, nor has my game.

Hmm. Personally I've found that Cap's FS and ZZS FS crash the game. As well as having more than one custom stage. My brother says he's experienced crashing after using a Final Smash repeatedly though. I don't think character textures have caused any errors for me though.

Really? How much free space have you on your SD card? I have Brawl+ on mine as well as several emulators and games for them. I have a 2GB SanDisk SD card with 325MB of free space left. Do you think the problem might be that I have too much data on the SD? Come to think of it the game rarely crashed before I crammed all that data into the device. See I used to have just Brawl+ on there and nothing else. I later added the roms and emulators to the SD card, which took up a heft amount of space.... hmm... What do you guys think?

The data left over on your SD card has nothing to do with crashes. Sometimes I've had my Wii freeze, I'd itentify what was happening when the freezing occured, and remove a code/music or modify it, and things would work more smoothly.

The FS freezing goes away if you delete all your textures.
