Having Ninten as a Ness echo isn't the most outlandish thing to ever be perceived. Mother hasn't got a new rep since Brawl, and even then Lucas wasn't in the base roster of Smash 4, only added later as DLC. Mother was ported into America in 2015 on the Wii U eShop under the title Earthbound Beginnings, so it is completely possible! One more comment: Ninten could have Ness's old up air.
