Master/Crazy Hand will reveal that
he's actually Matthew Taranto. By the time he started Brawl in the Family, there weren't many good Nintendo-based webcomics. Now they are everywhere, and you can't visit a website without seeing a lot of Nintendo fanart. The changes in artstyle reflects the fact that Nintendo characters are already in the minds of everybody, and everybody see them in a different way, so the mission of Matthew Hand is over.

Talk about Wild Mass Guessing.

Oh, and to reinforce my theory, see what happened to Matthew in this comic:

EDIT: Wii Fit Trainer became fat because of all the fanarts depicting fat versions of female characters. Bowser became a kid's drawing because kid's like drawing bad guys. Sonic, well, if you ever saw Sonic-related fanart, you know why the poor guy is like that.
