Ok so I was in training mode at Delfino plaza. I had nobody to fight so I was simply plucking pikmin and killing them in the water for fun (forgive me Pikmin) I came to the area of the stage thats outside of the actual city where the rock pillars are, with water underneath them. I plucked up six Pikmin and jumped in the water, as I jumped I grabbed one of the rock pillar edges by accident and two of my Pikmin fell into the water (both blue) before I could get back onto the rock the floating platform carried me away, leaving my two blue Pikmin in the water as I went to the next area I began to whistle to try and bring them back but they never came, and I was unable to pluck, my guess was because those Pikmin were blue and were still alive floating in the water.

I thought I'd discovered some kind of Pikmin glitch at Delfino Plaza, but when I found myself unable to use any Pikmin at all I realized it was the Ghost Pikmin glitch. I just thought I'd share this story with the community, maybe for some glitch stories?

haha, great story. The only time I ever had the ghost pikmin glitch was when I was recovering after a blow to my helmet. Needless to say, I died soon after. :/

lol, I would hate to ever have the ghost glitch happen to me in a fight, how often would your opponent believe "I lost because my Pikmin stopped working" but I guess they would notice them not working, and probably take the chance to absolutely demolish you. I think though the best thing to do when the Ghost glitch happens is to use tilts and Nair to rack up damage as much as you can, so when are KOd you can KO the opponent to even it out.

Anyway this would be a great thread for others to add their glitch stories, so don't be shy, go get your head handed to you with the ghost glitch.

I just thought about something. Unless the tournament you enter allows you to restart a match or somethin b/c of the glitch, you shouldn't tell your opponent about it if it does happen to you. Instead, just do as Puddin said and use your nairs, dtilts, and other nonpikmin moves to attack. They'll realize your plan eventually, and if they don't know about the glitch, they might not even do anything about it, cuz they'll think that if they try to punish your nairs and crud, you could grab them or somethin if they "broke" a pattern in their playstyle that "made" you use your nonpikmin attacks so often. So basically, don't tell your opponent if it happens. Just stay calm and use your nonpikmin attacks and go about your business.

I was really hoping that this story was going to end with going a complete circle to all the delfino areas, returning to the rocks, and finding those two blue pikmin still there sipping drinks in lounge chairs and grilling a trout. That'd be a sweet glitch.
