Hey everybody,

I was just playing CPU lvl 9's because of a screwed internet connection (fixed now btw) and I was having some nice Zelda ditto's so I decided to record them. Now in one of those battle's I was off-stage trying to get back on and I jumped into an Fsmash. The Fsmash only hit me with like the bottom half of the sparkles and it sent straight down not able to recover. It didn't really spike me very hard but before I had time to react and FW I was too far down to return. Is this a known property of the Fsmash? If not, maybe it's useful information. Just thought I'd share.

wow.... how odd... I just replied to another thread wondering why strange things happened during a lightning kick and it was for the EXACT same reason that this odd thing happened to you.

You got stage spiked.... the earlier hits of the Fsmash have low knockback and kinda just bounce you around... but, beacuse of your location, one of them bounced you into the stage and you just ricochetted off of it.... you can even see the graphic for smacking into terrain.

and, had you telleported straight up, instead of at an angle, you probably could have actually recovered.

oh and for anyone wanting to watch the vid... fastforward to 2:03

Nah, it's not a downwards hitbox.

It's one of the regular backwards hitbox that stage-spiked you and let you out of the subsequent boxes.

At least this is my opinion.

I believe there is downwardish hitbox on the VERY tip of the F-smash in the last few frames. If you have tow controllers try only doing f-smashes with one and walking into it slightly at different times.

I have done this to CPUs on the stage, without them flying off the screen, which means, unless it's crazy DI, there is some strange downward hitbox, just like the U-smash can Semi-spike, or at least "poke".
