From Roy to Marth

I'm a Roy player (primarily a peach player) who would like to add marth as another char under his belt.

I know the fundemental differences in the chars and that they must be played differently.

I was wondering if I could petition the marth boards for some help.

1. Shffling the fwd aerial. I want to learn how to do this well with the control stick not the c-stick. I can do it perfectly with roy (prehaps because of his weight) but I constantly end up doing the down aerial instead due to a rolling motion I do with my thumb. Any suggestions?

Could you guys list strategies that you use with Marth compared to roy? Like what one can do and the other can't

Sorry for the trouble and thanks in advance.

If you have any questions, always try the search function in the upper right hand corner: it's a God send.

And to give my own opinion:
Marth just has so many more opportunities when it comes to fighting; since he has tippers he can approach with attacks other than f-air, all of his aerials combo into each other (besides d-air), he has a much better edgeguarding game from dtilt, tippered fsmash, and neutral B.
Also, Marth has more options when it comes to ledge recovery; he can come on with w fair, nair, spike if they are below with d-air, or start to juggle with u-air.
Marth gives much more flexibility in how one can succesfully attack which in turn helps to psychologically and physically do more damage. With Roy, he has to attack with f-air, dtilt, side b, or a grab. These are much easier to prepare for as compared to almost every move Marth has. And Roy really only has one kill move, fsmash, which the opponent knows Roy needs to use to KO so they can be wary; Marth can kill with fsmash, dtilt, bair, fair, and dair at his whim.

SO, in sum: Marth is more flexible and allows the player to chose from various styles as opposed to the few preset combos and attacks Roy has. Hope that helps :)

1.Marth can approach.
2.Marth can recover.
3.Marth can deal damage.
4.Marth can kill people.
5.Marth can win.

Roy can do none of those.

Yes that helps rather well thank you.

I know that Marth is plain better than roy.

However I was looking for things that I could switch as far as style goes.

What's your opinion of marth's d smash in comparison with roy's?

Is it ever a good idea for marth to try for a vert ko?

What is an effevtive way of using Marth's Dancing Blade in comparison with the DED?

DED may be the one thing Roy does better than Marth, but Dancing Blade still has its mindgames uses.

Marth's UTilt is strictly amazing compared to Roy's. It can KO over the top, combo fastfallers, and protect practically the entire area around Marth. Plus it has lower lagtime.

for shffling fair/ double fair, w/ control stick, first sh, then press forward, press z (once for a single fair, 3 times for a double fair, i use three times at least, when timed righ, the first 2 do fairs, the last l-cancels).

oh wow that's a clever way to cancel the lag on the double fair scotu, I have troubling nailing all the cancels when I'm pillaring with falco but maybe if I do this it'll be easier.
