Hey guys, just wanted to ask you how you felt during the transition from the 3ds to the Wii U. If you have adapted to the 3ds already, did you have to adapt to the Wii U again? Could you still pull off the advanced techniques you practiced on the 3ds just as easily as on the 3ds or do you have to get used to the new controller first?

I only have the 3ds version, so I am curious.

As someone who never used a Gamecube Controller for Smash before, I found the transition from 3ds to Wii U very easy indeed. I was pretty worried about the transition as well, but it's really nothing to stop you from buying the Wii U version. Of course, I can only vouch for the Gamecube Controller, but I'm sure everything else would be just as easy to transition to.

There isn't much of a difference compared to 3ds and wii u game pad's control scheme. You'll have to get used to an analog stick and the 2nd stick for smashes which is easier anyway.

You can use your 3ds as a controller anyway for some modes.

I didn't practice ATs on the 3DS, since I knew I'd be swapping to the U version anyways.
But anyways, since I managed to get a Gamecube adapter on day 1 without a preorder, going to the U version was very simple. Going back to the 3DS version when I need to (i.e. deferring Gamecube slots to other friends during 8-player funsies) is still doable, as well. Especially if you end up using the Pro Controller, the transition from 3DS to U will be very smooth.
