Really? This is really happening? Do you even realize all the crap Israel has given Palestinians in the past 50-60 years?

besides the obvious issues with this thread, would the money even go towards helping the cause it was made for?

No, Israel reaps what it sows. The situation is unlivable for Palestinians as they get blown to bits on beaches, in hospitals, and in their homes. I could go on and on. Human shield claims have been examined by the UN and were unsubstantiated. Hamas didn't appear out of nothing. It's impossible to live in occupied Palestine.

And no I'm not an anti-semite. It may seem like "He doth protest too much" but you see you have to have this disclaimer to try to avoid idiots.

Why? Why even bring that up here?
You mean the OP? Because this is the Pool Room. You mean my response? Not a fan of"poor Israel" talk as a captive population forced off their land far more recently than the Jews is blown to bits. Hospitals, UN schools, beaches, mosques, and more have been blown up. I don't agree with state-sponsored terror against any group and I want to make that quite clear.

No I mean why make a thread about such a volatile topic?

Yeah, Israeli's cheering on livestream as Palestinians get blown to pieces. You're the antagonist, get a clue.

Hamas didn't appear out of nothing.
Indeed. Hamas was found in 1978 as a side-arm of the muslim brotherhood. It's the root of the problem and its destruction is an absolutely imperative step in order to achieve peace in the region.

  • Article 7 of the Hamas Covenant provides the following quotation, attributed to Mohammed:
"The Day of Judgement will not come about until Moslems fight the Jews (killing the Jews), when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say O Moslems, O Abdulla, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him."

This is a quotation from the Hamas Chara. Hamas will not stop doing their terrorist work unless Israel and all Jews in the region have been eradicated. They are the arabian equivalent to the nazis and it's not possible to find a peaceful solution to the conflict as long as Hamas exists. They also misuse european development aid in order to buy grenades and rockets aimed at Israel as well as expanding their tunnel system - meanwhile the rest of the gaza population starves and has no access to infrastructure or education. Is that also Israel's fault?
Of course the settlement-politics of Israel aren't excused by this and I hope Benyamin Netanyahu and the rest of the israel government will face their well-deserved consequences. But that doesn't negate the fact that only the destruction of Hamas can ever lead to a peaceful situation in the conflict. One of the most tragic ironies of the whole conflict is that Hamas isn't just the enemy of Israel but it's actually the real enemy of the people in Gaza as well. Making Hamas history will not only improve the situation for Israel but is also the only way to give Gaza hope for stability.

Free Gaza ... FROM HAMAS!

Lose-lose situation. Zero sum game. The Middle East as a whole is a really bad place to be.

The Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas are really terrible but so are right-wing extremist Jewish groups in Israel, and they have a lot of power. I can't stand either of them.

Considering Israel has shown it's okay with blowing up innocent Palestinians in hospitals, UN schools, and their homes over a kidnapping and murder that Hamas never committed (and this was proven) and lie about Hamas using Palestinians as human shields (refutted by the UN,) I can't blame a terrorist group for arising to fight a settler state that terrorizes the remaining original inhabitants of the area (the Jews were kicked out by the Romans in 70 A.D.)

It is not possible to find a peaceful solution to the conflict as long as the right-wing in Israel exists either... They misuse US military aid to blow innocent children up on the sidewalk and further make Gaza an unlivable place. You know why the tunnel system is in place? Gaza is blockaded by Israel and Egypt.

You know why there aren't any settlements in Gaza anymore? Because Hamas fought back, whereas Fatah's West Bank is being overrun by wealthy, Jewish settler majority homes, expelling Palestinians who live in poverty and a military checkpoint hellhole. So a hellhole with settlements or one without? I don't understand how humans live in the area at all to be quite honest, Jewish, Muslim, or Christian, and those do matter because the Middle East seems obsessed with religion, ethnicity, and mass atrocities.

I do not condone terrorism, but Israel is doing it too, and committing atrocities from the position of power and advanced weaponry. A real solution to the Palestine-Israel problem would satisfy neither party, and I think extremists on both sides will ensure that never happens. Dead women and children, and blown-up property disproportionately affecting one side will continue to be the norm I fear. It's also pretty clear that Israel wants what remains of Palestinian land, it's been shown with the actions of evicting Palestinians to build Israeli settlements.
