You guys ever foxtrot around with Olimar? I've just started doing it recently and it's been really helpful. I figured that if ICs are helped by it, then maybe Oli would be, since they're both pretty grab-based. Helps a lot for landing up-smashes, too, and for some reason it helps me powershield attacks better. I guess it gives the same benefits as pluck-cancelling, except that turning around is even faster, I think. You guys should try it. Unless you already do and I'm way behind on what all the cool Olis are doing.

I tend to do it whenever I need to move faster then walking without the disadvantages of running. I'd say it's pretty useful. :)

What's pluck-cancelling?

If you have less than 6 pikmin then you can pluck to cancel your dash and then you're free to do whatever you want from there.

Pluck cancelling is quicker to pivot by 8 frames I think... this is from a regular dash though. I don't think hilt tested pivoting by shield... but I heard from someone else that pluck cancelling is faster by a few frames. Want to verify this hilt? =D

Also, ICs use fox-trotting to de-sync... @.@ Nana has a 6-frame input lag from popo, so dash + input >6 frames apart = desync. It's the fastest, most useful/safe way to de-sync.

Regardless, I see hilt doing it, and fot-trotting practically described andG's oli back in the day... seems legit
lol I'm so not up on much Brawl terminology.

What's foxtrotting?
Foxtrotting isn't so much a brawl term as a smash term in general. basically it's moving with dashes. Just the dash animation, no running. So it's just dash, dash, dash... pretty much tapping your control stick. It's called fox trotting for the fact that it was a significant "AT" that improved fox in ssb64 (or was mostly used by fox)... but I could be completely wrong on that (just what I heard).
