Fox's Super Dash

I think I might have stumbled upon a technique similar to Samus' Super Dash. I was playing as Fox on Dreamland and I use his Firefox near the right-side edge, it canceled out and I was dashing forward very quickly. It was almost identical to my kind of silly Fox super dash I would use in 2v2 when I up+B and my partner clashes with me using an attack, canceling the Firefox into a rapid dash.

However, this happened in a 1v1 match. I was wondering if anyone knew what happened. I think I might have edge-canceled it somehow. I messed around with it for a few minutes just now and got it to look similar, but not how it was before. I don't have much time to practice things, so I was hoping Fox mains could figure this out, or just explain it if you know already.

Did you bounce off the ground when you hit it?

Yes this actually happened to me once too. I never thought much of it though and I couldn't replicate it so I figured it was a one time glitch that I shouldn't bother people about. However, knowing that other people are able to do it confirms it for me. We should investigate this.

Ever heard of a crazy Samus player with the tag Wes? From DA?. I think he's the best Samus, if not one of the top .

He powershield-ed this Falco in my crew so hard it made him stop laser'ing...

on FD. He can powershield ANY projectile. Its f*ed up.

Yeah lol, my fox is 2-0 with him in tournament, but the time I dumbly picked falco I got rocked and he powershielded like every laser. Lol, when did wes go to Canada or Canada come to NY? :)

Btw I tired doing this using the method in the other thread, but I can't :(

Can someone with AR re-create this? I find it pretty interesting, and even though I read the other thread about "how" to do it, I'm still not entirely sure... >.> I dunno how this could be useful in any way though other than showing off due to the start up animation, but hey, it's cool to see new things being discovered years after Melee has been out. :)

Nice find Tommy.

It certainly looked like I did.

I agree.

I've had this happen too, but like shield reflecting I'm sure it's too touchy to be abuseable.
I Power Shield all the time. It just takes some practice to get the timing down, and it's really not abuseble, but it is helpful.

Look at my Thread .
Your post was confusing.
Don't make threads about the same thing another thread had covered. That's reason for a lock, and I'm not sure why it hasn't been.

Has anyone been able to duplicate the Super Dash yet?

You mean you can reflect projectiles "all the time" because I really doubt you can do it overall

Eggm: Last year at the T7 Canadian open. Its an annual fighting game tournament, the largest ever held in Canada every year.

Last year at T7, Wes, DireVulcan, Bum, some black guy that plays Peach, and others came down to own us hard.

Yeah, there hasn't been one projectile I haven't reflected in my six years of playing this game. I can even do it blindfolded while making balloon animals.

I have AR, but I don't have the time. How about I ship my AR to one of you to test out?
And really, what other reason do you need to do something with Fox other than showing off?
Seriously though, if Samus' Super Dash is used in matches, Fox's would be too. And her startup time is about the same amount of time.

I've actually used this in 2v2 effectively. I Firefox forward, my teammate hits me, it clashes, canceling out the animation of the Firefox and I go into a Super Dash at the opponents on the other side of the screen for a surprise frontal assault. If I could do it on my own, it'd open up some more possible uses.
