Fox shorten spots?

I know about falcos but the only one i know for fox is on yoshis story where you can do it right off the platform.

If you dash off the left/right platform and immediately double jump>side b as fox, you should edge cancel on the opposite platform. The same can be done with falco on yoshi's.
