I'm new using Marth, and would greatly appreciate the best possible technique to get around fox. And Particularly his up smash if any one could help?.

and adding on, how do you cancel out of Marth's up+b?.

Chain throw is your friend. Grab, throw up. If he's smart, he will DI behind you. The basic way to deal with this is to pull a quick dash dance and JC another grab. You can do this until the low 50's %, but it's free damage that he can't get out of if you can do it right.

Fox's upsmash can be a pain, but if you just keep him at bay he shouldn't get an opportunity, especially if you make sure you stay low to the ground with your aerials. Keep him at about tipper range and he will never get an up smash in, unless he downthrows to an upsmash, but that's unavoidable if he gets a grab in.

I'm not completely sure what you mean by cancel.

Only doctor mario can cancel his own up-B, and you can escape fox's downthrow to upsmash by either or both DI away from fox, or simply tech the D-throw

If you tech the d-throw enough, though, he'll expect it, and then he will just delay his up smash by a few frames.

But yes, I was confused by what you meant by cancelling because Marth cannot cancel his up b.

You can tech roll to the left or right.

Even if you tech roll the fox can be quick and wavedash to an upsmash wherever you go. Pretty hard to avoid against a good fox.
You can also just DI the first part of the throw then tech the 2nd bounce at mid percents. This allows you to mix it up by varying. DI away tech away, DI forward tech away, etc.

There is a reason upthrow to upair is used more often than dthrow. Because it's easier to read DI than techs.
