What determines how the platforms move? Is it based on time like Randall? They get in the way a lot when I play. So much so that I wish the level was frozen. But then we would have too many 3-platform stages. Or make it so that the side platforms are always gone to reduce the number of 3-platform stages.

It's a premade pattern since it's not possible to program in random elements.

I would assume that this was answered back in Melee's early days, and however it worked in Melee was most likey exactly replicated in Project M. Even so, I don't know the answer to your question, but would suggest just turning the stage off in the random stage filter if it bothers you so much.
